Default rc18mt need help

Hey
The rc18mt is my first electric car that I had for about 5 months befor I decided to upgrad with a mini mod 19t motor. After the modification 2 things began to happen.
1.The motor and stock esc overheat to the point of almost untouchable when it goes offroad! The pinion gear is 10t and other gear is 55t
2.The battery connector melts together with the esc connector.
Ay ideas to prevent this will be gratly appreciated thanks

yeah get dean plugs and your 10t pinion with a 60t spur should be fine, BTW if you have a rc18mt why you have a 55 spur? you changed it or something?

I just read in the thread above yours that the 19T motor is not recommended for the MT only the T and B, because the tires are too big.

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=5267718

The official AE site recommends the SP-19 stump puller motor for the MT because it has more torque.

That could be the problem.

Yep sounds like your over geared , try going up to a 60T on the spur and no bigger than 11t on the pinion .

You might lose some top speed , but it will accellerate faster and be easier on the motor .....

WORD...

While you're at it, might as well get that battery too, the Reedy VMX Concept R-14 on the ae page [8D]. Sounds pretty crazy and would compliment any motor very nicely. I read about it elsewhere, but forget where...
