Default Need Help Please!

My problem is with my ProPulse truck it has the mamba 6800kv and matching ESC. I just got a new battery and when I hold it in my hand and use the throttle it is completely normal but when I set it down and just tap the throttle it takes off and goes from one side of the room to the other and does not respond to the brake at all. I tried reprogramming the ESC to the controller but that did not help. What else could be causing this?

I have the castle link and I have the Mamba 25 ESC. I have the ESC set to the highest setting on timing and only 10% drag brake and the lowest start power setting. Does anybody have any ideas?

Maybe you should get the USB cable and go to Castle Creations.com then try to set up your car that way..
Thats what i did .. Its so EZ that way. that cable is about $19.00 then just down load the free software. Then set up your car and any other car with or that you have the castle creation system.

I really need help guys this is my first rc I just took it outside and it took off on me and ran into the neighbors house. So I brought it back in and reset all the settings with the castle link. timing is now normal brake is 100% drag brake is 60% reverse power 60 % starting power low no punch control. I am also running a 10.8V elite 1500 battery pack I designed and had cheapbatterypacks make up for me. Also in the process of trying to reprogram the controller to the ESC I plugged in the battery with the switch turned off and it went crazy and I now have a huge rubber burn on one of my legs that was exposed.

OK I just did a test with a 7.2V propulse pack it does not freak out and take off. But I need to figure this out and get it fixed because I already ordered a lipo charger and battery that will be here tomorrow and it is 11.1V. I know other people have ran the 11.1V LiPo's on here why is mine acting up? I really need the higher voltage to eliminate all the cogging caused but the 17T pinion gear I put in. Please somebody help I am desperate!

Even if you program using castle link you still need to train the mamba esc to the radio. Disconnect the battery with the power to the radio on. Wait 10 seconds or so, that will completely drain the caps in the mamba esc. Then turn the reciever power switch off.

Now attach the battery in the car and all the ESC lights will flash.

Then with the transmitter on pull the trigger to full throttle and turn on the reciever switch. You will hear noises and after a couple seconds the red light will flash. With the red light flashing hold full break on the transmitter until the orange light on the ESC flashes. Then release the trigger to neutral. After a second or two the orange light will glow solid and you'll be set.

The ESC needs to know your neutral and min/max transmitter positions and that process trains it.

To program the Mamba ESC low level follow the same procedure except when the red light flashes continue to hold the throttle to max for another few seconds and you'll enter programming mode.

And also if it still freaks out on takeoff be sure to start with minimum starting power settings. Then increase start power one setting at a time until it takes off smoothly.

Already done all that I think it is an issue with the ESC not handling the voltage correctly. It runs fine on 7.2V but when I put in the 10.8V battery it freaks out.

I have a second 3s 11.1v ThunderPower lipo that I use sometimes (it's too fast for me) and it works no problems with the Mamba. Might be some kind of interference or something. Maybe a loose wire or cold solder joint somewhere on the 10.8v battery?

Why would changing the timing via the castle link software that makes it a one click procedure void the warranty?

Well I got my new 11.1V Li-Po today and it all works excellent I cant control the car it is so fast but it is very nice. So the problem would have to lie with the cheapbatterypacks battery. I am going to contact them and see if they can resolve the issue. All of my 7.2V packs work fine just a tone of cogging and now the 11.1V Li-Po works great so it had to be the battery. I hope they have good customer service because I paid almost $45 for the battery after shipping I could have gotten a second Li-Po for that much but I did not want to spend the money for a new charger at the time of order. Thanks to everybody for all the suggestions though as I had no clue a battery could cause a car to act like that.

It could have been the voltage of the pack, cause I had a car a while back that liked 7.2V then I bought a 8.0 didn't like but 8.4 it did.
