rc18mt vs vendetta st
Hey, i am looking to buy a new mini truck. I have chosen either the vendetta st or the rc18mt. Which of these will be faster out of the box? Also, which will be more durable and easy to work with? I dont want to do much upgrading, just put around the yard. I am a little concerned about the vendetta st because I have heard the vendetta line has durability issues. what do you guys reccomend?

RE: rc18mt vs vendetta st
the rc18 series is pretty much the best...
durability, speed, ease of maintenance, and out of the box they come with some of the best electronics.

RE: rc18mt vs vendetta st
no rtr comes with good electronics
out of box the st will run stupid circles around the rc18..
only take advice from someone that has experience
the rc18 is a great basher,, and you will have to upgrade things on it
steering
servo
MIP outdrives
MIP cvd's
better shocks
vendetta
steel outdrives with cvds
servo holddown

RE: rc18mt vs vendetta st
I own a rc18t,,, I have put all kinds of wheels on it,, to include the trinity offroad and onroad monster tires,,,
the rc18 is a great basher and once you fix all the lil troubled parts then you can have fun... I have spent a lot of money on my rc18 and to this day I could spend more to get it rigjht
enter the vendetta
since july when I first bought it,, my rc18 has remained in the closet untouched..
the detta is just so much easier to drive and you will spend less to make it MORE RACE READY
a magazine tested the rc18b with the vendetta and the mini inferno...
the detta had the fastest lap times

every car has its weak spots. just know this..
if you plan on racing just get the vendetta. if you are not racing then just get the rc18

RE: rc18mt vs vendetta st
thats kind of odd considering at the 18th scale nats, the only 4wd vehicles that made the podium were rc18s

see the wheel "nuts"... those are actually tiny, little screws[X(]

RE: rc18mt vs vendetta st
I swear, there is another one of these threads every time I visit this forum.
Take it from another person that owns a vendetta and a 18mt that the vendetta is far superior in EVERY way to the 18mt. The 18mt was the biggest waste of money since waterproof towels. It'll be fun the first 4 runs and then it just breaks down even from proper care. The detta on the other hand ahs been going strong until I snapped a driveshaft which was replaced by duratrax for free. The 18mt does nothing but collect dust now seeing as it NEVER works properly. There is always something wrong with it and when it does work, the handling of it just feels like its garbage compared to the vendetta.
Bottom line, if you buy a 18mt you should also purchase a years supply of spoiled milk, rotten eggs, and maybe even a few empty soda cans so you can see that buying all that junk was a better purchase than buying the 18mt.
Just click on my name and view some of my previous posts to see more posts by me to try to inform more people to save their 160 and buy a quality RC instead of watching that money being burned right in front of my face.

RE: rc18mt vs vendetta st
the detta might be ok if the servo was actually bolted or screwed onto the chassis and if the wheels wernt attached by Philip's head screws...
i have never had a problem w/ my rc18 before, so i guess these guys don't know what their talking about. [&:]

loctite,,,,, when you switch to steel cvd's you will be screwing into steel and not plastic,,,,,,
or you can mod it by gluing a screw into the axle leaving enough sticking out to use a locknut and then dremel off the head of the screw,,,, simple
