RE: li-po batt
I have to back T9dragon on this. I am a father and would not let my children at lipo's. They require serious serious attention and mistakes are not forgiving. If you must go with the lithium power then look into the LIMN packs from apogee. They are much safer and pack all the punch that lipo does. Charges off lipo chargers.
Do you have an esc with a low voltage cut off? Do you have deans connectors? Please go to apogee website and read all the info there on lithiums. I would truly have your father read this as well. Not insulting you by no means, by trying to say your to young for lipo's, but reallity is what it is.
What is the set up you have now? Are you racing?
Fill us in,

RE: li-po batt
zimm11 the three guys including myself responding are very very knowledgeable and will not give out info that is not sound. We are not out to bash, we are here to help.
I was talking with t9dragon on IM and mentioned to him that if you was still stock electronics that you might consider a 7 cell pack. Also gear the 370 a little higher since you will have the voltage to power the tall gear. You will get good speeds and safety is just like stock. Watch motor heat. Running anything higher then 7.2 volts will wear out parts faster. Everything from the motor to gears. Not like your going to be making "b/l power" but still will be a big improvement. The 7 cell pack will be faster then a 2s lipo/limn.
this is assuming your still running the factory super 370 and xps.

RE: li-po batt
well if you are going to deffinitly get a li-po battery, i would strongly advise one of these li-po sacks, they're a flme proof bag used for storing li-po batterys. Heres a link, and theres also a link to the site on the page.

RE: li-po batt
I agree with everyone else. It took me a couple months of research about lithium batteries to decide If I at 24 would think I should be handling such a dangerous product. These are by no means like Nimh's. There were 2 pages of warnings that came with my 3s cell Thunder power lipo. and another 3 pages that came with the charger. These batteries are by no means just a simple and playful upgrade. You have to upgrade you ESC, connectors, make sure your motor can handle the out put of these batts, Not to mention. Just for me to upgrade my Mini-T to BL with lipo cost over $300. My mamba kit was $125, the battery was $50, the charger was $60 and the power converter for the charger was $60. Not to mention that after you "upgrade" to something with this much output, your going to be breaking a lot more parts on your vehicle. Frankly I'm tired of breaking parts everytime I run then waiting a week to 2 weeks for parts to come in. I'd strongly advise your father to go and have a serious talk with your LHS dealer about the pro's and con's of these batteries and see if they would be applicable to your situation. My local Batteries Plus store won't even look in a Li-Po's direction, and they are supposed to be the Battery warehouse of batteries..... That's how dangerous they say they are. They don't even want them in their store. they won't sell them or work on them. This is just my 2 cents. I'm not trying to discourage anyone just giving my honest opinion. Really do some hardcore research about these things.

RE: li-po batt
here's a few videos to watch, Mind you these batteries will do this after charging is completed after only about 15-20 minutes of being left on the charger.
This is one using a saftey bag to control the explosions
