Default quick brushed motor and lipo question

just bought a 17t mini mod motor and thought that i would get some needed juice from the a 2c lipo. after a minute or two the motor was smoked and now i have a $40 paper weight. i always thought that lipos could be used for anything as long as you took some caution it never got empty. i've heard other people burnt the same motor but unfortunately i read those after the purchase. can you use a lipo for brushed motors or was the motor as hit and miss as they said. tell you what, that thing was impressive for those m2 minutes.

Yea you can use lipo with brushed motors. I guess that motor was a dud. Have you checked the brushes?

i was running it with a rc18mt. i havent checked the brushes yet, the thing still stinks. i figured that i would have been fine, that is until i saw the smoke. im thinking about going to the vendetta st, how do you like it? can you compare it the rc18 series.

I love my Vendetta ST I've jumped it over my head with nothing breaking. I broke 2 axles but that was 8 feet up landing on the front wheels. I can't compare it to the RC18 series but from what I've heard it's a lot more planted and not as twitchy.

Vendetta buggy = Also good carpet racer.

You should be able to run a 7.4v 2s Lipo fine, I run them with the VR3 motor all the time.

definetly a dud of a motor. i ran the lipo with a propulse stock motor and it was fine, i did ruin the spur but no biggie. im lookin for a setup where it is fast enough to go wow and where i dont have to keep rebuilding diffs and burning spur gears. the mamba 8000 is blazin but after a couple of minutes it seems that it always needs attention. i think ill take a step down in the mamba or try the permax, seems like everybody loves them.
