a few RC18T questions
hello all, just ordered a mamba 6800 for my brother and I off towerhobbies last night and am looking forward to getting it. But Id like to learn as much as I can before I install and run the car with the mamba in it. I will be putting my 7 cell ib1200 in it and yes I still do run stock but shimmed diffs and stock plastic dogbones. Upgrades will follow.
ok, heres the questions.
1. setting up the mamba..anything to look for? info on how to set the ESC? any precautions?
2. onroad tires..id like to use a set of onroad tires but ofcourse those need some adapters..ill take a look and see what I can rig up soon but if anyone already knows of the best way..please let me know.
heres the wheels and tires id like to use.

RE: a few RC18T questions
get losi street meats. they require no adapters.
the setup is pretty straightforward. i think you'll be able to figure it out.
just get 2 sets of these:

RE: a few RC18T questions
Here's a set I've been thinking of getting for my rc18mt for when I want to run on the road.
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...7&I=LXKZP0&P=K
Unfortunately I can't tell you any thing else about them. Maybe someone else could give you (us) some more input.
They LOOK like grippy tires.[sm=confused_smile.gif]
BTW- I run a 5400k Mamba with a 3s lipo and that setup shreds stock diffs, both are shimmed and I also use cvds.
Got a set of MIP superdiffs on the way after my 3rd set of stockers.
I run her hard though and if you are just going to run road the stockers might do ok for you.
You'll LOVE the Mamba!!!! The instructions are pretty straight forward and easy. One issue I had was when you go through setup you have to use your throttle for stepping through the programming (unless you get the cable) and if your trim is set too much one way or the other it won't recognize the inputs, just make sure your trim is centered.
Also don't hold your truck in one hand and floor it to see your tires balloon up, the torque will flip it in your hand and give you tire burns if it contacts skin!!!
