Look around; there are plenty of Vendetta threads, including a rather large Official Vendetta thread. Most here really enjoy their dettas. What type of driving are you looking at doing, i.e. bashing or racing? If racing what kind of track, i.e. indoor or outdoor? I'll let the resident detta expert, jaew, answer the more technical questions as he owns both the Vendetta and Vendetta ST.
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5337999/tm.htm
I personally like the ST as it has a bit more clearance to handle the rough stuff better, as is to be expected, and also uses a pillow ball suspension setup. It also comes with a faster VR3 motor. Although the motor tends to run on the hot side.

@Conti027;
The OP was asking for information on the Vendetta not if he should get the RC18. Please try and stay on topic if you are going to respond. Also, judging by his screen name I am willing to bet he already owns an 18.

I love mine it's good on the track it's going to be great once I find a set of good tires. Yesterday I was jumping about 10 feet and I had some bad landings, I bent both of the shock towers but I was still able to run.

Vendetta all the way. I had a Propulse (same design as 18t) and something always broke with it. The vendetta is strong and only requires a few upgrades to get it in optimum running conditions, where as the 18t takes more. I know at the track where I race the vendettas outnumber the 18ts like 6 to 1 or something. With that said, the 18t is still a good car, and if upgrading is your thing than by all means go for it.

What I could see if from a weight point of view but they sell CF stuff it that is an issue. It is great to have it since it's is super strong and when you are just starting out for the 2nd time it really helps, trust me...

I agree aluminum can be heavy, but it's not like the arms and chassis are aluminum or the battery strap, etc. I don't think there is too much aluminum in stock form or at least so much to cause an adverse effect.

there are several guys that have had theres either raced or practiced on a 8th scale track,,,,, and some have put the 8th scalers to shame

I know whn I had mine on a very large 8th scale track,,,, the comments I was getting were very positive,,,, and I was able to clear every jump that the 8th scalers could clear

btw the alum is a good thing .,, and weight isnt always bad... it helps keep the car stable

I don't know much about the vendetta ST, but I'd rather have that than the rc18t factory team which comes with a bad steering system that must be replaced and that takes way too much time.

i don't think you can go wrong with the vendetta.i raced a borrowed one this past weekend and was very competitive with it considering i haven't raced in over 2yrs(middle of the pack driver) and only ran 1 practice pack.this was on an indoor rcp track.the truck was stock except for the hummer body. the only draw back i have with the truck is the battery compartment.here is the track we race at in houston. I have had an xray M18T several 18T's and now I run a Vendetta ST. I would go for the vendetta over all the others anytime. I have a 1/18 indoor track here in Ohio and most of the cars that show up are Vendettas. I actually should have my other one show up at the door this week! Liked it so much I bought another. As fas as the aluminum, I don't see that as a problem. There isn't a lot on it to begin with. One thing that I don't like is the aluminum pinion gear. Switching that to steel. 18T's have to much slop in the steering for me. Go with the Vendetta.

My friend has a pede and I can beat it on every track that we race on. My car jumps so much farther than his and about the same hight.
