Default Putting a mamba in a RC18MT

I am going to buy a RC18MT or another 1/18 scale MT and I really wanted to go with brushless power so I was wondering, has anyone done this and how hard easy is it? also should I get the sport or performance package? And what the usb stuff they keep talking about about anyway?

It is very easy; all you need to know how to do is solder, match waires, and configure the speed control. If you want total speed, go with the competition x package. I dont have any experience with those ones you specified. The usb stuff is the castle link which enables you to easily configure your mamba esc.

yea, the compx is overkill. the comp is more than enough power.

Easy to do, works GREAT!!!
I put a 6800 with a 2 cell lipo in mine and it worked out fine. You need to be able to solder on some plugs on the esc and battery, and be able to route your wires (which I need to redo) The truck can handle the motor with pretty much no upgrades, except the stock plastic dogbones are pretty easy to twist apart

plugs onto speed control.

1. get plugs
2. locate speed control wires
3. solder them together

I put a Mamba 6400 system in mine and I don't remember having to solder a thing (that was 1.5 years ago), however, you do have to set-up the esc, which if you follow the instructions, it is pretty easy. I sold it, I had a fit wiht the steering (servo saver was awful, tried & tried to come up with something to fix it, short of installing a solid horn w/o servo saver) I am looking at getting a Mini-T, very competitive with the RC18MT, just not 4WD [&o], unless someone can show me a fix for the clip servo saver to one that is spring loaded like the one on the Mini-T (I tried using one similar to the Mini-T, but you need 2 holes for connecting the steering linkages in stead of 1).

Thanks & be good!
