QUESTION ABOUT VENDETTA BUGGY VS. STADIUM TRUCK
I decided I want to get a vendetta, but Im not 100 % sure of which one to get, the buggy or the stadium truck. I read they are very similar but that the stadium truck was released with some improvements. Like the battery has more capacity, and the esc was changed. Im leaning towards the buggy, mainly because I know where to get a almost brand new (used once) one for only $100. But I just wanted the forums opinions on this. Are the improvements that Duratrax made to the truck worth the extra cash? Or are they pretty much the same when you take away the body. Im basically looking for a fast back yard basher, with an occasional track meet. Thanks in advance for the replies..... Nate

RE: QUESTION ABOUT VENDETTA BUGGY VS. STADIUM TRUCK
oh boy,,, let me catch my breath
-buggy upgrades for brushless racing
alloy upper arm
steel cvd's
ball diffs
servo hold down
alloy knuckles
my personal choice,,half8th hex adapter with proline wheels and crime fighter tires
-truck upgrades for racing brushless
alloy upper arm
steel cvd's
ball diffs
servo hold down
duratrax D-bars tires
now if I were to race my twin on a rough track and I had the buggy and he had the truck,,, I would worry even if the gearing and motor were the same
but if the track was smooth,,, I would laugh at the challenge
the buggy turns much faster and can be driven hard... while the truck can carry more high speed corner speed but its turn radius is much wider.....

I like the looks of the truggy. What gears are you using with the brushless? I thought these did not use standard 48p gears?
Thanks -

RE: QUESTION ABOUT VENDETTA BUGGY VS. STADIUM TRUCK
The hacker would probably be best suited for the Vendettas. High KV motors don't really do well in these because of the gearing, I had a Wraith 7K in mine and it burnt up.

These all have a 2mm shaft though. Don't really want to purchase other gears. So debating. If I was able to get up close to one to see how hard it is to match up a 48p spur. That would be nice.

RE: QUESTION ABOUT VENDETTA BUGGY VS. STADIUM TRUCK
if you run the rc18t spur.. then you limit oursel on the true speed that the detta is capable of.. what size motor is the hacker anyway.. if it aint 28mm or a 400 size can then you are spinning your wheels.. and the detta will never be fast..
there are several motors outthere that perform very well.. with the permax being at the op of the list
and also using the robinson racing metric pinions.. you can use pinions from 24t down to 12t.. im currently running a 21/45 in my car now..

I have no experience with the buggy but I bash my truggy alot. I jump it about 10 feet and have some bad landings.

RE: QUESTION ABOUT VENDETTA BUGGY VS. STADIUM TRUCK
well the truck can be man handled but the buggy needs a smooth driver,, with some finesse,,, the buggy looks better racing than the truck,,,, only because it can and has to be driven that way...

RE: QUESTION ABOUT VENDETTA BUGGY VS. STADIUM TRUCK
Most of the time I'm a smooth driver but yesterday I was learning how to do frontflip 360s... they were alot harder on the car if you did not land perfect that is why I broke a rear arm and a front upper one.

do you know what a whip is..
well a lot of the pro drivers at my track do this thing in the air.. they approach the jump and just before take off they turn the wheel hard.. this puts the car sideways in the air,, and then they yank the wheels the other way and give throttle.. and the car whips back into the correct postition for landing.. very hard to explain but looks impressiv when executed..
they have another called the chuckie whip.. done and mastered by novaks charles pearson.. same concept.. except the car is not only side ways in the air but practically upside down,,, he lands them perfectly about 98% of the time........................ i just wish i had one on video http://www.rctech.net/forum/showthre...ip#post3029958

RE: QUESTION ABOUT VENDETTA BUGGY VS. STADIUM TRUCK
Yea I like to turn the wheels before I launch off the jump so I do a 360 flip. I'm going to try one of those whips that you are talking about because it sounds really cool.

Yea I like to do late front flips and stuff like that. I don't have the power to do a backflip yet every time I try I end breaking my wing mount.
