take a dremmel and cut the heat sink so it doesn not block the vents on the can, i did this on my MQ and PP and TT-01R works like a charm

I would say heatsink it....the motor and esc on st have a reputation for getting really hot. Some have had problems with the stock esc, so keep an eye on it.

Pretty much everyone has a problem with the stock ESC. My motor does not get over 160 unless I stall it a lot and really abuse it.

Those are the FET's not a heatsink I would have some $$$ to buy an ESC because pretty much every Vendetta ST fries.

If you get a heatsink for exposed fets don't let the fets touch or have any metal contact between them. This means an individual heatsink for each fet or covering them with tape before the heatsink. Mosfet tabs are also connected to drain, which isn't always the same for each fet.

If you have ever wondered why there are little rubber things between mini t fets and heatsink or why some 1/10th ESC's have 4 heatsinks you now know why.

Yea that is how it it on my Tazer ESC. Could you put thermal compound instead of rubber things to get the most use out of your heatsink.

Thermal compounds can conduct electricity, so those wouldn't work.

The fet tabs are what heatsinks usually attach to, to keep them cooler.

Edit: A nice esc is the Novak XRS, its meant for 1/10th scale cars but its small and would be nice for a heavier vehicle like this. Its around the same price as a mini ESC.

I wonder if they make a non-conductive thermal compound... Never mind I found some but if I got that then my Heansink would not fit on right... [:@] I guess I'll just leave it as it is my ESC hardly ever gets over 100 degrees (Tazer 15T).

There is this one brush-brushless ESC I think that it's the Genisius I don't know much about it but it's rated for 30 amps. I would just get a Bl ESC later or go straight to Bl after your ESC fries.

Go straight to brushless! Get a Permax & a Quark 33 and be set.

I've been running the Duratrax Heatsink without modifying it. The finger test says it runs cooler. I haven't used a thermostat so I can't confirm that. I've also cut a small hole in the bottom of the chassis beneath the motor (and battery), to get them more airflow.

ya...it just doesnt seem like a good idea to block a vent that was obviously put on the motor for a reason. but the heatsink just looks so awesome lol

Integy makes a heat sink that fits the Vendetta motor (search for Integy Miniquake heat sink) that already has slots in it so the vents wouldn't be covered. I haven't tried one, but should work. I have the DTX heatsink and cut notches so the vents on the motor can aren't covered.

I'm thinking about getting the heatsink just because it covers the holes on the motor. I run in a very dusty area and I'm always cleaning the dust out of my motor.
