FWIW: Another big name might be coming out with a platform soon....
If they don't, the L4 is a fine vehicle, but as far as the "details", the other manufacturers like CRC, Corally, and Speedmerchant leave it in the dust. However, its a great platform to start out on.
(Funny, there is no on-road forum here except for gas???!!)

Sorry, wanted to give a bit more info.
The cream of the cream to me has always been the rear link suspension CRC Carpet Knife. Though its price is a doozy.

CRC also offers a cheaper t-bar car that still has more unique features than a L4
If your right now just "testing" this class and dont want to spend large amounts of money, you could get the Corally Fiberglass SP12M. It would help you learn to drive and tweak them while being fiberglass could take more abuse. Then later you could upgrade to a full on racer kit.
