AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH RAMINATOR OR DETTA???
Well, me and TD are having a lil' debate on which Mini I should get. He says the raminator, I say Detta ST. I am for the most part gonna be bashing, but may get into racing somtime along the future. Can you please just not vote, but give me a lil' reasoning too? I already know the most votes are gonna be for the detta though hahaha!!
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Raminator because its alot better IMO. Better radio, better layout and better company. Plus its based off of the mighty MLST so its a no brainer.

RE: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH RAMINATOR OR DETTA???
I Am towards the detta becuse when you but it, it comes with a few hopups that arent standard on othere rtrs (aluminum goodies and a hopped up motor) and with all the videaos ive seen, looks very durable. Yea the raminator has all those top of the line electronics, but it wouldnt do nearly as good as the detta in a race, partl;y becuse of it's higher cg and weight.

i dont think its a better company, duratrax' cars are very well built, and have the stres tech warranty.
the st would be way better for racing, becuz it has pbs, lower cog, and is lighter without the weight of 2 motors.

I read the article in rccar action magazine on the raminator and they say it is a good truck, he thought it was going to be very slow cause of one motor but the top speed was 17.? mph and the suspention is good jumped well handles exelent. So i like the raminator based on facts. But ive never heard anything about the detta. Accept that it is duratrax[:'(]

RE: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH RAMINATOR OR DETTA???
Where are you going to run it? If you are going over rough stuff or alot of grass get the MT. I had a Vendetta ST and its the best mini I have ever had. Its extremely tough, fast, handles great, and is overall a great car.
I GPSd mine stock at 23mph. I only ever broke two parts and both were replaced for free and I beat the tar out of it.
I would say the ST would be overall alot more durable but it wont handle some of the terrain the Raminator would.
But if you are looking at the Raminator, Id suggest getting a Mini Quake SE and adding your own electronics. Its already built with CVDs, ball diff, etc to handle brushless or high power brushed motors.

RE: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH RAMINATOR OR DETTA???
imo i think the raminator is underpowered
i mean its "based off of the mlst" but it only has 1 motor
correct me if im wrong but that seems a bit under powered
DETTA ST FTW
lol
ya detta st all the way reasons...
1. stress tech guarentee
2. aluminum
3. hopups available( ALOT)
4. great out of the box (20mph excellent handling)
5. tough like a mt... drives like a truggy
6. VERY DURABLE ... HANDLES BRUSHLESS!
w00t
detta st ftw lol

RE: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH RAMINATOR OR DETTA???
I liked it when you said"VERY DURABLE ... HANDLES BRUSHLESS! w00t " becuse thats another thing im lookin for. 20 Mph is prett fast for stock. Im sure it will do pretty good with a dtx 1200 pack. Thanks for the tips on it!
By the way, instead of waiting 3 hours or whatever it is, can i charge the battery in my acdc quick charger? it says 7.2v so i think it will work.

RE: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH RAMINATOR OR DETTA???
ya
use the losi mini peak charger
its imo by far the best
the chargers such as like the super brain and prophet plus cant charge
mini batts for beans lol
you can pm me for any questions
i can get you a vid of my detta once it gets up and running again
i took it apart to see how everything works in it and while doing so
i snapped a chassis by accidentaly jumping and landing on it lol
dtx gives me free parts ! lol so ya
things i really liked about it when i opened it up
are...
how the shocks are mounted
the use of 12mm hexes
cvds
nice diffs
uses robinson racing metric pinion gears ( only use if using a 3.2mm motor shaft(brushless motors) )
no bent hingepins after plenty of bashing
hingpins held by like cups and retainers instead of e clips
enclosed gear boxes dont let anything in !!!
currently on order or from dtx are...
1 quark 33 esc
2 chassis
3 2 aluminum ball diffs
4 2 sets of steel cvds
5 aluminum shocks
this is gunna be one sweet truggy
hope i helped

How can you make a judgement for or against a car/truck without having driven it, held it in hand, tore it down, built it up, etc... ???? Please at least check out the July 2007 issue of RC Car Action. The vendetta st is on the cover and has a full review with great test results. oh and duratrax doesn't make the vendetta, they distribute it. It's made by an asian company called Anderson. Its sold under Yokomo/Anderson in asia, and LRP/FTX in europe. If LRP is willing to put their name on it, I'd trust it.
My vote was for the detta st, because its durable, simple to work on, very tunable, and has amazing race potential. I don't have a raminator, but I've owned two mlst's and thought they were just ok. Very costly to make bl ready. escpecially if you get the raminator, since its a cheaper version of the mlst. you'll need to buy everything aftermarket, which costs a lot more than say... getting a mlst2.
Another thought would be to wait for the new XTM Rage to come out. I'm looking at one of those to replace my mini quake soon.

RE: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH RAMINATOR OR DETTA???
detta. I would not say stock it or most other stock cars will handle brushless, but it will give less trouble than most. steel cvd's and a mid powered brushless are all that's needed. the gear diff WILL hold up to mild brushless power. over time though, you should get steel ball diffs.
The mlst/ramminator is nice, but drivetrain needs to be beefed up more given the weight if you're going brushless. also remember, there's 3 diffs to wear!
The detta will handle terrain quite well, as it's one of the largest 1/18ths out there, but with exceptional handling.
