Gen1 Xmod: Li-ion Drifting
I was gonna say, "I'll get a video tonight"... But I can't, I simply can't..
I'm having a hard time drifitng on tile floors, the setup is below. Then I slammed into the wall and my front knuckle popped out of the thing and against the deck. But after fixing it, I realized that the horn the servo simply sheared right off... Didn't really feel for a complete dis-assembly...
I'll get pictures in a little bit, but I'm I have a few questions:
1.) Stage 1 or Stage 2?
2.) Does anyone know were I can get a stronger steering horn?
3.) It won't turn as well one direction, any ideas?
Sweed's Gen1 Drifter Set-Up:
-- Stage 2 White
-- Li-Ion AA Set-Up
-- Front/Rear Gear Diffs (Not Locked)
-- Hard-Tread Tires
-- All Wheel Drive
-- Hard Springs in the Back
-- Stock Springs up Front
EDIT: Here's some pictures. Note the clean chassis and the magic floating Li-ions. Once again, it's cleanly set-up.

RE: Gen1 Xmod: Li-ion Drifting
the carbon fiber stuff is from radioshack and included in the cassis upgrade. I am able to drift on my hardwood floor at my house with the current upgrades,
1. Custom motor(13 or 14 dollars at target, go into the rc section and look at the radline section upgrades, looks like a miniz open endmill type)
2. All wheel drive
3. aluminum wheels
4. Hard springs all around
5. Scotch tape on the tires
6. locked rear differential(white)
7. chassis upgrade
8. Full ball bearings
9. 4 AAA rechargeable batteries (energizer 900 mah)

RE: Gen1 Xmod: Li-ion Drifting
that is the carbon fiber upper and lower deck, as well as the clear chassis. I don't like the clear chassis because it is so much more brittle, mine is cracked in several places so i went back to the staock chassis but kept the carbon fiber.
here is a link to a carbon fiber upper deck, i have not used this so no promises but it looks right.

and locking your diffs is what really helps drifting performance, i would also suggest getting a steering upgrade from atomicmods

I have not tried it but it looks promising
p.s. I notice that you have 2 of the stock white diffs. I would suggest locking the red aftermarket one (the one with actual gears in it of course) and then install it in the rear. That way if you don't like how it works you can still go back. You lock a diff by opening it up and gluing the gears into place.
