Default I just got off the phone with thetoyz.com

I have been looking for the DP drag link for my rc18t for about a week now and it's been out of stock. I call in to thetoyz and talk to RJ, it seems that DP's CNC machine went down and they don't know when they will get any from them. Does anyone here have any information about this?

Just a heads up on what going on with us.
We are very sorry for being out of stock for so long. We as a company are going thru changes please be patient with us.

We are working on getting our line of parts injection tooled due to fact we cannot keep up with the demand going the cnc route that we done in the past.
We are expecting our first run of injected tool parts( the drag link in black and natural ) to come in January 2008 according to our injection tool vendor.
Once the drag link is made then we will do our 10th scale wheel adapter's and spring hat's.

We updated our web site and removed items that we no longer have in stock. They will be back, once they are made via injection tooling.

We know that once our parts are tooled the toyz wont be out of stock.

kind regards
Team DP

Yes we are waiting for the steel molds to be done, once we get the first artical's in for inspection, the actual production run should go very fast (just a couple of days)

Yes it will be the best way for us to do our projects. We will just use cnc's for short run prototyping.

imho this will be much better for us in the long run. they will just make the prototypes via cnc, then send the files to the injection molder, have a mold made and then they can make a lot of parts very quick. a friend of mine is in the cnc machining business and they do a lot of aircraft/aerospace cnc'ing and those items take a lot of time - ok for one off stulff that they do but not good for large production runs. for plastic items they do their own in house injection molding for quantity. the amount of time dp takes doing each item cnc has got to be crazy - i have always wondered how they made any $$$ since the retail on their products is so low.

yeah, but while they are working on the molds they should continue to make as many as they can until the molds are operational... if possible.

true, unless the first post is correct - depending on what type of cnc machine the cost may be high or sadly it just may make better business sense for them to wait for the molds to be done as their cost per unit will go down significantly and they could still work on other prototyping/new product r&d depending on how many machines they have. in the mean time it kind of sucks for those that don't have the product
