Default Vendetta ST Battery Suggestions

I am looking into purchasing a Vendetta ST, but am not sure what to do for a battery. I am looking for the longest run time possible and am not really worried about speed nor do I plan to put in a brushless motor at this time. This would be my first electric car (already have nitro) and am not sure what to do. I have heard of LiPo, but I do not know much about them except that they can blow up on you. I am not sure if I should get a high mAh NiMH battery or go LiPo. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them. The car's standard battery is a 7.2volt/6 cell, 650mAh NiMH.

PS: If anyone knows of a web site that tells you everything you know about lipo I would love to see it because I haven't been able to find much except safety precautions and how many fires have been caused from them

Thanks,
Robert
