Default losi shock problem?

I justr bought the team losi oil filled shocks for my mini-t and it said to use 20 weight il in it so I did and it seems like the shocks are too soft you push on them and then stay low and dont kump back up, is that because of the light oil? If so what should I use?

This is partly because the springs are too weak...IMO. Buy some blue associated rc18 springs.

That's likely a problem with the springs - they're probably not stiff enough or you're not using any shock spacers. Oil simply makes it more (heavier) or less (lighter) difficult for the shocks to compress or decompress, it doesn't prevent either.

EDIT: Doh...beat me to the punch

for springs just take 4 pens and take the springs out, clip them to fit right. they work great.

I dont think the springs from pens would fit the oil filled shocks

I think hes talking about the Micro T

Yeah the springs that come with the Losi shocks are way too soft , Gex has the right idea with the RC18T springs . I would get 2 pair of rears though cause the Losi shocks are longer ....

Yes it is. if you put light oil your shocks it will tend to sink to the ground so I would recomend 40 or 50 weight associated shock oil.

BTW= look into some heavier shocks also...

Default RE: losi shock problem?

? Heavier shocks? What is that supposed to mean? I have no trouble with losi shocks running 25w in front with 2 hole pistons and the pink springs with 1/4 inch spacers for carpet. I use the yellow springs with 35x in rear and 1 lg spacer. Not sure what heavier shocks would do thats any good. The losi green springs are pretty beefy also. The AE springs are pretty beefy as well and work good too. Heavier oil will cushion the impact better but not make the truck stay low after compression.....thats the springs job.
