RE: MAX TEMP B4 WORRIE!!!!!!!!!!!
What motor in what car? What battery are you using? What is your gearing? Where are you driving? How hot is it getting?
Most of my motors run nice and cool. I can lay my hand on them when I'm done running. Well, most of the time.

Well, since nobody else is helping you out...
I think I remember hearing that brushless motors will be alright if they stay under 200'F. I don't feel comfortable with my motors getting that hot though. Most of my motors are used with NiMh batteries, so they stay pretty cool. I am running a mamba 8000kv motor with a 2c LiPo on a dirt oval. I have never temped it, but I can leave my hand on it for 3-4 seconds, so it's well under 200'F. I would try to keep it under 150'F.
I recommend using this heat sink, if you can get it. It is the best one my dad and I have used so far. We're using it in an rc18.

I am not an expert in brushless systems and what not, but I heard on another forum that the motor should be under 150* if possible and the ESC under 130*

as with everything electronic, the cooler the better, it is also easier on the bearings... and makes the motor last longer[8D]
