Mini Jammin Brushless
Not really sure of where this thread belongs but I hope it belongs here.
I picked up a used Jammin CRT.5 without motor/engine. It came with a nice brushless conversion kit and I'm thinking that I might keep it on there instead of going back to nitro motors. Brushless is just too clean and easy to use and still give ridiculous speed. So here is my question: Which motor? There seem to be a lot of brands and makes out there. I planned on going the mamba max route with the ESC, but if a CC Neu motor fits the needs better I might have to get a 4-polr ESC, right?
Now that I think about it this might go better in the 1/10 scale thread because of the 1/10 scale electronics that go into it

good start. You'll love it when its all up and running.
As for the electronics and motor.... I would go with a MM if you plan to run 3s or a sidewinder if you plan to stick with only 2s. I don't really like using Mamba max motors in this since they tend to overheat very quickly... even the 4600. You would be better off buying a Feigao "L" can (3000-3500kv for 3s & 4000-4500kv for 2s) or a Medusa V2 for a little more $$. A Neu 1509 would be the best choice if your budget allows for it.
If you plan to bash, get some 2.2 truck wheels/tires. If you plan to race, stick with the smaller stock buggy wheels, and matching tires (which ever works best on your track). Ask the 1/10th 4wd buggy drivers at your local track for what tires hook up best at your track.
Lastly, you may find that the shocks are a bit lacking if your track has big motocross style jumps, so you may need to bump up to white (stiff) springs or even switch out the shocks entirely. I currently use Jato shocks up front (1.4 springs, 40wt oil) and ofna 1/8th buggy front shocks (soft springs, 30wt oil) for the rear.

They take Mod1 pinions. You'll need to get a bore reducer if the motor isn't 5mm. However, Robinson racing is making both these now, so they are easy to find.

Yeah, I have a few "extra hard" robinson pinions in my wish list on tower, as well at the things for the jato shock mod for the front and the wheels/tires I wanna try out. I found a place where I can easily get a Feigao 9L motor, I just need to know if I can fit 6 A123 cells on the chassis for a 3s2p pack.

There is also a dude who sells them on e-bay. He sells the battery tray and motor mount. I've got an rc-monster motor mount and a the ebay guy's battery holder. Both are first class, but if I had to choose over, I'd get both the battery and motor mount from the ebay guy.

I don't have the specific link anymore. Just go to ebay and look for CRT .5 conversions. He's the only guy on there selling them. You might have to look back through the completed listings, as he tends to sell a few then stop for a little, then sell a few again.
You can always PM him to see how much he would sell one without going through the ebay bidding. I did that, but I only bought a battery hold down.
