Default Rc18t question

I got a rc18t in a trade recently it has a mamba 6800kv motor and a mamba 25 esc and some aluminum bling [:'(] It feels like it is locking up as it does not like to roll freely. I looked at the diffs and they seem fine and most of the bearings look good but the spur gear looks a little rough any ideas? PS anyone try and fit a huge Nomadio transceiver in one of these?

Is it locking up even when the electronics isn't turned off? If it only happens when the car is on, check your "drag brake" setting (ESC setting).

As for the spur gear, I've run my car with damaged ones quite often and besides the noise it didn't do anything significant on the car.

Also, did you check all 4 wheels? Loosen the wheels slightly (one at a time to find the culprit) and see if it helps. Usually you can tell a wheel (or wheel bearing) is bad when the car pulls in on direction all the time.

If the diffs are OK then check for dirt crammed into the teeth of the pinion and spur gear .

The spur and pinion could be to tight. What you should do is loosen the motor. Then stick a small piece of paper like a reciept between the gears. Push the motor tight against the paper and tighten the motor. Pull it out and see if it makes a difference. Thats was my first problem was the gears being to tight.
