Default Mini LST2 trans + 10,000wt Silicone = ?

Ok, I am sorry if this is posted somewhere else but I read the LST2 threads nightly and I have never heard of this. My MMB is in about 300 pieces waiting for ordered parts but I haven't ordered a center ball diff or anything other than the DD slipper for the center diff. I always hate how the car just burns out and I had an extra bottle of 10,000wt silicone diff lock oil for my 1/8th buggy and decided to slap some in and see what happens. [sm=confused.gif] I have a feeling that the thing is going to come from together the first time I grab the throttle on the Mamba 5400kv that is in the mail LOL.

I was just wondering if anyone else had tried this and what happens. If anyone else would like to tell me what they THINK will happen I am open to suggestions and I will surely post the results. If you think I am a complete idiot, thank me for being the person stupid enough to try things so that you don't have to hahahah.

Well, I finally got everything up and running on my Mini Monster Baja; 5400kv Mamba, Mamba Micro Pro, aluminum, graphite, I love it LOL. While I was putting everything together I noticed that the 10,000wt diff lock oil was oozing through the bearings so that made absolutely NO difference If anyone has ever seen a center viscous differential can you please post a link. I didn't run it around a lot but so far it seems the center diff is holding up fine after boiling the gears.

10,000 is too thin. You need 30k or better for the rear and 50k for the front.

I was just trying to get something for the center diff because I have heard a lot of stories about the ball diffs getting ripped up with the brushless conversion. However, I am running the 5400kv Mamba and so far I haven't even ruined the stock one yet...crossing my fingers!! Will the stock diffs take the oil? Thanks a ton!

So my car started making a clicking sound tonight and I think the BL finally ate the trans [:@] Mamba (1) LST2 Center diff (0)!! Well, on mine anyway LOL. On the bright side I took my Hyper 7 to the LHS and I am pretty sure it will be sold tomorrow so I will have some money to buy parts for my Slash VXL. And I am sure that since it's a slash I will have plenty leftover to buy my ball diff and shims! Thanks a ton for the help Arancio5!!

I went on eBay to look for the Delrin ball diff and I found these. These are probably a GPM part or something because I bought some aluminum from this site and it was all GPM or some other name brand manufacturer. I just have no idea if these are even close to what I would want. I know that these have plastic gears but my dad is a Mechanical Engineer and he was working for a place that tested some plastic friction against steel and the plastic wore the steel away...not saying these are that same quality of plastic but it is possible. Just wanted to get some of your guys' thoughts. I appreciate all the help I have gotten so far, thank God (or whoever you believe is responsible for for it) for the internet and forums!
