I can believe 30 min. People are just incredulous about runtimes because they are used to brushless or modified brushed motors. My wheely king could get 20+ min stock on a 1500mah battery. Nobody believed me when I posted that either. *shrug* Its all in the gearing....

nice

id like to see a nimh supplied that would get you 30 minute runtimes in a brushed rc.

ever since i had my rustler vxl and a 3s lipo, anything that is brushed and not lipo just doesnt seem good enough.

not saying i would like to have a 1/16 slash, or the 1/10 slash for that matter. but before too long, i would want to slap BL's and lipos to them
Have you not seen the 1/16 Slash & E-Revo VXL update thread?

filmmaker is a guy over on Traxxas forums who got the 1/16 Amsoil Slash and posted a ton of info up about it. He also put in a brushless system and says it's crazy, and his motor is smaller than the traxxas bl one. Our trucks should be nuts!

Your the guy who was trying to sell his mini slash for $459.99 on ebay! [>:]

It did'nt sell, now your wanting $349.99 and at that price that's about $100 more than the brushless version from tower with their cupons..

I though those brushed versions were only $200-$245? Wow big profit margin..

He's not going to sell it for $350. He would be lucky at $250. Anyone can order one from Traxxas for $199.

If someone is dumb enough to pay that for it, then more power to the seller for having the idea to sell it in the first place. Did you buy it? If not then you don't get to be mad. This is how supply and demand works. He has it, you don't. If you want it, you pay what he's willing to sell it for, or you go find another seller.

That thing is ridiculously powerful! [X(] However, I would be concerned that putting that much power through the stock gearing, which are almost certainly an aluminum pinion and a plastic spur, would quickly saw-tooth the pinion from the heat resulting in eaten up spurs left and right. [] That is what I saw with a full sized brushless Slash before I installed hardened steel gears.

On another note, I think that I would rather have the brushed version of the Slash to race in a stock class than the E-Revo.

I have a question that I'm sure you guys can clear up for me:

I have always understood that brushless systems are not made to run in the water. Of course the average brushless ESC is not water-proof, but I thought that the casing of a brushless motor (even though sealed) was also likely to be damaged by water. Is that wrong? Traxxas states that the brushless system in these new 1:16 scale trucks is safe for water, mud and snow. How can that be? [sm=confused.gif]

No I did not buy it at such a rip off price...
And yes its ok for us to be mad when we see people taking advantage of others by selling an item for twice the price its worth..
suply and demand? most anyone can buy one of those from Traxxas or Amsoil for 200 bucks or whatever they sell them for..

just like the new camaro that is available to the public, only a few are out and most good dealerships are not gouging there customers because they want them back!

So who ever is selling that slash for a rip off price... ha ha it did not sell!

Well there's nothing to hurt really. Except bearings, if you re-oil them like on a brushed motor then there should be no harm done. Just like in a brushed motor the windings are insulated. As long as the distance between the tabs on the coils is sufficient to prevent arcing then it should be just fine to run in water. Seal up the ESC and it's ready to go.
AE makes waterproof brushless ESCs for cars, so they must have had the idea long ago to run a brushless setup in water.

I'm not trying to sell anything on Ebay, my ebay name is Superskua. Even $250 would be a rip off, go order one from ANY amsoil dealer, you can get them from amsoil dealers for $199. I'm sure most of you guys have some place in your town that has a amsoil dealer.

You guys are getting the wrong idea, I have like 14 ebay transactions, only 1 sale. I rarely use ebay. I have had my account since 2004, I think.

The guy that is selling it has like 1250 transactions. I'm 16, do you seriously think I have the time to move that kind of product with 2 jobs?

I don't like it when people try and rip other people off, I have never done anything other than try and help out other people in this hobby and help new guys get involved in it, now I'm getting this s**t.

Yeah that would be great! I live over in Littleton/Highlands Ranch area, so I usually race at the RC Hobbies littleton Track. But once we get these that would be fun. Little bit of a drive though.[:'(]
