RE: Anyone NOT getting a Traxxas 1/16 and why not?
I have the Mini slash, it is worth every penny. Much better than any other off-road mini I have ever driven.....WAAAAY fast and nimble too.
And the thing is tough as nails!!! It survives wrecks that would have sent my RC18T's to the shop for repairs. It's like buying a full modded brushless racer.
I mod every thing I have ever bought....but I don't know where to start on this one....nothing breaks, everything works....so why mod?

I wasn't going to get one. But my Nitro revo 3.3 and my brothers 1/16th slash are so good I couldn't resist. Traxxas made a winner with these new minis. I drove mine today and was blown away at how actually good it is.

I'm not getting one, because I have to buy two of whatever I get. One for me and one for my son. We race together, against each other. So I am thinking of the PHOTON V2

RE: Anyone NOT getting a Traxxas 1/16 and why not?
I have driven one mutiple times (30+ charges) on the stock battery and have not broken any parts, but I didnt go hard on it either. The car is ALL plastic and you couldnt adjust alot of things like camber and toe easily. The shocks had tons of air in them from the factory and the tires came unglued quickly. The radio felt extremely cheesy (that goes for all Traxxas radios) and the stock battery got to 200+ degrees after charging at .6 amps and a full run. It was a mini, so handling wasnt very good at all. Xray M18T beats them all in the handling catagory. So, for $300, I would rather buy something else with my money than the 1/16 e revo. If it were $250 or $200 I would buy it, but $300 for a mini is extremely high. 30+ is the absolute highest the car should go, 50+ and it isnt even fun it is just soo powerful. There is Traxxas's speed claims again, "30+ on stock battery and 50+ with optional battery and series connector!!!!"

Check out the Associated RC18T. If I had to do it all over again, that would be my choice for minis. I don't know much about the Photon but when it comes to minis, availability of replacement parts is a big issue and the RC18T parts are easy to come by.

I've have two 18R's, I've had the 18T, 18MT, two MLSTs, Mini-T, Half-8, A-Tech Leo-X mini monster, Mini Quake, CEN ME16MT which was one of my favorites, and some others that I have probably forgotten about.
I just ordered two of the Photon V2 brushless buggies with on-road conversions.
Very nice and responsive people.

Here are some pics of my past mini's.

I'm not going to get one because I lost interest in the minis. I currently have an m18, 18t, MLST and MLST2. The MLST2 never even made it out of the shrink wrap even though I bought it almost a year ago. The m18 and 18t haven't been ran either. I just built them up and lost interest. Now they sit waiting for me to get off my butt and get rid of them.

I'm really, really thinking about buying one after work this afternoon. I really wish the $289 RTR package came w/ the Traxxas 2.4Ghz radio.
