Default please help with this problem!!!

I recently sold a 1/16 traxxas slash on ebay. The truck ran perfect when i sold it and was basicaly brand new. Once the new owner tried it he "says" that he ran it for a short period of time then it "SMOKED" and melted the batteries. He had it ran in series with nimh batteries. I always ran lipo's in it. Can not switching the ESC back to the nimh setting from the lipo setting cause this? If not, what can cause this (batteries to melt). I'm guessing he ran it real hard trying to see what this thing can do for a long period of time or trying to pull a scam with me (like he already had a slash and trying to pond his broken slash as mine and trying to get money back or something) I don't know what else to think since it ran perfect when i shipped it? Please help as soon as possible. thanks

I mean, i don't want him to get screwed either and will refund his money but just d'ont understand how it was fine with me and not for him. If i could just understand how this can happen then maybe i could find out if it was indeed his fault or not. thanks

He needs to call Traxxas and tell them what happened. They will most likely help. This is a common problem not unique to you or him.
