RE: Radline rc 1/24

My masters also came into today

well i got to play with it for one pack fully stock, not to shaby, good speed for an inside basher, the Esc and Steering feels preaty smooth, bearings come stock,no oils shocks tho also comes with dif pinion gears, the 130 motor mount system, and also even dif rear lower arms mounts so u can swtich between degrees of toe in. the font has adjustable toe in also, no camber adjusments tho. seems great the only prob i have is Sterring slop much like and 18t or pp in the design of the set up, i also had problems with the stock servo not centering fast enough. the Car takes a standered 3 wires servo so i slaped in my HS55, the stock servo saver fits right on and the HS55 is direct drop in,the servo connection is very easy to get to and doesnt require much tare down. the steering is much better now, still has lots of front slop thos :(. how ever my run times arnt that great got to figure out the problem. I will be adding my Oil filled shocks shortly

The truck comes with
Body
Chassis
TX
2 servo savers 23t and 21t for dif servos i guess
Pinion puller
2 pinions
130 mottor sleve and mount
4 extra body clips
and 3 rear toe in blocks
1 screw driver

well i re set my ESC and some how my runtimes are much better :)

My major porblem is trying to get the slop out of the steering linkage. i think i might try to make some kind of brace that will link the two arms togather. as of now one wheel can almost turn all the way with out the other one moving, thats how muhc play there is. that or i was thinking of just redoing that hole portion with some threaded rod and ball cups not sure.. any input guys

RE: Radline rc 1/24

So i came up with a solution for the steering slop.

I connected the U shave steering bracket( the one the the servo moves) at the bottom under the pivot arms. I cut up a section of lexian , and drilled to holes in for the screws which connect the pivot arms tot eh U shape servo arm. There was enough room so it all fit with no binding.

You can see the portion im talking about in the picture below, the green box is basically the shape of the brace i made, It all fits within the chassis also.
http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/1100/pict0323ob7.jpg
I will get real picture of the bracket ASAP, it was very easy

now both wheels move as one, you can not move one wheel with out the other one moving. Before one wheel would be able to stay straight and the other one would be able to turn almost fully

also driving in reverse at any speed was impossible before, both wheels would turn inward at dif rates and caused the car to not drive straight, now this only happens at high speeds in reverse.

So all in all this is a great lil mod :)

i had an elite series for awhile, and i broke the shock tower within 2 days and returned it. How would you rate the durability of the master series over the elite series, the stock elite was slow, stopped well, turned well besides the delay in action, and could not climb, well anything, has the master series solved all or any of these issues?

joeyblaze 12-12-2007 10:16 AM

RE: Radline rc 1/24

as far durabilty, they are the same truck bascily just upgrade elctronics, i dont know how u broke a shock tower? was it the buggy did u have the body? i havce beat the heck out of mine and have no broke anything. The elite could not climb anything becasue i assume u used the stock motor, the master comes with much more powerfull 180 motor stock, i can run thru grass....

RE: Radline rc 1/24

hey guys, new member/ user here. just got an elite series buggy. this is my first RC car in YEARS, and i've never owned one that i could modify, so all this talk of motors and electronics is pretty new to me. dont get me wrong though, i'm pretty quick when it comes to learning new things, especially things like this that interest me. so my plans for modifying my buggy is 1: ball bearings (i dont see those plastic bushings lasting long), 2: oil filled shocks and maybe different spring rates, 3: faster motor. i was thinking of getting the radline modified motor, but i see you guys talking about 180 motors, are those bigger? faster? are there any that are plug-n-play? 4: wheels/tires. i'm pretty sure i'm going to wear down these nubbies pretty quick on the concrete.

i also have noticed that the steering servo doesnt center very quick, what would be a good drop in replacement (again, plug-n-play?) and what should i expect to be spending on it? anything else you guys would recomend? i will surely be doing the steering slop mod soon.

thanks,
~B

RE: Radline rc 1/24

I was just wondering were you guys are buying the 180 motors? What Type? I saw some over a AtomicMods.com but had no clue what I was looking for(so many to chose from). Also it says you need FETS, I'm not bad with electronics and micro controllers but not sure what there talking about. I have a Elite Radline Stadium truck with a performance shock kit and bearings. I would like to upgrade the stock motor and battery source w/ a 180 motor and 7.4, 1000 mah lipo or something close any ideas were to get parts? ThankX for any help! Any ideas on how fast people are getting these things to go?

Well, what happened next? Are these cars still running, giving hours of driving enjoyment or did they crap out?

These things are so awesome! There are so much custom stuff you can do to theses but not do to a bigger scale r/c!

So far I got a custom chasis, 370 motor, rc18 batts, propulse electronics. But I shorted the batteries so when I get those I'll run it.

If you guys want pictures I could get them up.

Me and my friends might get 2 so we can race them in my basement and in-side when it's raining.

Well here are a few shots of it.

Custom chasis work ,converted to rwd new spur 370 propulse mount. All of the goodies. Will take any questions.

you can do the slop mod with the top of a pringles can

RE: Radline rc 1/24

the stock motor on the elite series is actually pretty quick if you remove the resistors from the leads on the motor, actually I think all the optional motors that you can get at target have the resistors on them. just food for thought. I am actually thinking about putting a brushless in it. [>:] but the modded motors are not too bad

RE: Radline rc 1/24

I was thinking brushless 180, idk they need better gears!

RE: Radline rc 1/24

I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to say that the steering slop mod is really helpful. But the steering delay and the amount the servo wanders is just stupid. If anybody knows a fix for it that would be great.

RE: Radline rc 1/24

If you add another cell or 6 cell you gives you some more juice and if you want you can cut up an hs-55 and make it a 5 wire.

Hey guys, i have a masters with the stock 180, ball bearings, oil shocks, 3000mah batteries and the slop mod i saw ya do. Its running great, even install an under body light. I got a problem though, there is this weird clicking im getting from my rear diff when abruptly changing reverse to forward, or jist lurching forward. Do you think its a stripped gear?

-JBLKING- 08-18-2011 08:26 PM

RE: Radline rc 1/24

I have the masters monster truck. Wait, i think i stripped a tooth off the stock spur gear. Thats fine since i was going to change the pinion and spur anyways. What ratio should i have? Also, i noticed the stock spur has a bit of metal reinforcement in the center mount.
