Default Lanier Stinger 10 Questions

Hey All,

I just picked up a Lanier Stinger 10 and was curious as to what servos people have used. I also wanted to get feedback on engines. I plan on using an OS FP modified 15. What about receiver..and lastly, what modifications have you made to make it more aerobatic?

Thanks in advance for the input.

Default Lanier Stinger 10 Questions

I have the kit but have not started on it. The quality of the kit looks very good. I would also like to know who has built one and what engine was used. Lots of wing area on this plane.

HS-81s throughout and .26 Surpass for power. Lots of fun in a little plane.

Sorry to bring up an old thread. I was building one last year, and had a Thunder Tiger GP-15 for an engine. The servo info is very helpful, perhaps I should start on another as it looks challenging.

Default RE: Lanier Stinger 10 Questions

I have one framed up, for .15 power. One of the reasons I have not finished it was that years ago (back when I built it) one of the local airshow pilots took off with one that had a .15FP in it and after a decent takeoff roll it rotated, swapped wingtips for a few ocillations and snapped into the ground. No idea how heavy it was or how it was balanced, but it had enough airspeed that I thought it should have been flying and controllable.

Radio gear is a lot lighter these days, you'll probably be ok. Mine is set up for S-133's and what was available at the time..
