1/2 a glowclip
Being I run 3 flavors (Norvel, AP, and Cox), I was pleased to find this cure for the glowclip problems.
Dubro, it seems, doesn't offer the 148 clip anymore. Seems all of us need to bombard them with requests to put it back in their inventory.
Will try to post pix of it. Haven't done this before so bear with me.
Thought it would be of interest here.

If that's the one that I think it is then what you and we really need to do is get the old style Perfect clothespin type back into production. I've had one since the 60's and it's literally worth it's weight in gold to me. Fits all 1/2A's and up to the OS Max 10. There's a larger version that works for the bigger stuff up to my old school 75 4 stroke.
I'll try to get a pic of it for later tonight or tomorrow.

Kwick Clip ??
YOu mean this little old thing?? Shucks, I thought everyone had one or two of these!
I'm just new to the R/C end of hobby. Been 'circle burning' flying 5 man control Line combat since 1959!. Father had it for a hobby when I was born. We had a good arrangement; He loved building them and I loved flying them! Hard to shake off the silkspan, silk and dope though.
Seriously though, I use both of them. I like the locking feature of the dubro; keeps it from slipping off and winding up the wire around the prop. A slight pain to make it unlock and come off.
I also run Fox, K&B, HB, and OS. Hate them back kickin' spittin' damned Enyas .

Kwick Clip? Naw....
It's sort of like that but all metal and 10 times as hardy. Also that plastic one only came in a "one size fits NONE" where mine are in two sizes. The small one fits the 1/2A's like that pair of faithful old slippers that your wife wants to toss.
Wait'll you see the pic. Unless someone else beats me to it.

I have the Du-bro 148.
Only thing I dislike is the wire flex when connecting and disconnecting it. The wire always breaks at an awkward time. No big thing to fix, I just don't like doing it in the field. And I'm alwys there when it breaks.
Connecting and disconnecting is somewhat a pain, but its advantages make up for that.
Bill.

I may be mistaken but i believe sullivan makes one that hooks to your glow plug. It was in a issue of model airplane news on 1/2a, it looks simular.

Quick Clips
I had a McDaniel clip that wouldn't stay on any engine. I ended up misplacing it and haven't missed it until now.
I was thinking of making my own clip for the little ones out an old plastic closepin and some brass sheet stock. If metal is better how about the clips that come on the clothes hangers at department stores?
BMatthews, I am eager to see the pictures of your clip so I can copy the design. My needs require the ability to go from .010 to .049.
Any thoughts or design ideas?
Thanks,
Sean

I have a very old Cox clip, and the Du-Bro #148.
I have modified the Du-Bro, instead of sticking up, mine points down when attached, this keeps it from falling off until I want it to.
You can see the different length and angle of the arms in the picture.
Bill.

And here's the Du-Bro on an engine - you can see how the top part is now pulled down onto the plug, instead of being pulled up with the longer base arm.
This modification pleases me.
