Default New Extras

I have two new Extras. One for .049/ .061 and the other slightly larger for a .10 although I know someone will put a .15 on the nose.
Both would easily convert to equivalent E power'

Steve -

Both are very nice looking. Is there a reason you chose a semi-symmetrical foil on the 500 and full symmetrical on the 900?

It should be pretty clear to most folks building from a plan, but you may want to label the rib outlines on the 500 as R-1 and R-2.

Andrew. ... The 500 airfoil is a Hybrid Skydrill / DNU. Derived to fit wood sizes, span & cord for area.

The Rib #'s are on a later plan. There are many revisions since.

forsakenrider ... Kits to Canada. Unfortunately our glorious Post Office says that Canada is "International" and packages over 24" must be sent Priority and not the cheap way.

This means I cannot send the wing parts full length. I have to cut them in Half. To build this should not be too much of a problem as the centre is sheeted across 4 ribs, the web of the main spar straddles the joint and a joiner piece can be used on the back of all the others.

If still interested please Email and I can send more info..

skaliwag for the likes of us poor unfortunates who live outside the US, and suffer the indignities of 'international postage' is a 'short kit' version an option-ie the laser cut ribs formers etc only-omitting the strip wood (and the fuselage sides and other long sheet items) to stay under the 24" parcel length limit?

Short kit version is very much an option. I have had another interest from Canada which has the same problem.
Does your balsa in NZ now come in metric or Imperial?

Both actually Skaliwag-it depends where it is sourced from. Most of ours used to come out of the big commercial plantations in PNG, ('Artmil' 'Balus' brands) but that source of supply seems to have dried up [I suspect because China and other SE Asian producers are buying the entire crop for RTF and ARF production!] and I think the NZ importers are getting it willy nilly anywhere they can-anyway even metric it is still in imperial sizes: width length and thickness-75 or 100mm (3" or 4") 915 or 1220mm long (36" or 48") and the usual range of thicknesses-though 1mm and 4mm seem to have appeared as well in additional to the traditional imperial thicknesses (now expressed as the metric equivalent). I've never seen balsa here in true metric sizes (eg 1-metre lengths and integer thicknesses).
Current stock in the local shop seems to be mainly 'Midwest' brand...............

Hi Chad. Packing for SMALL.
Don't forget the build thread. There are are a bunch o' balsa heads around here who love to see their favorite organic product be transformed and created into objects that defy gravity.

Cant wait to see a build thread. This really does look like a fun plane for a nicely throttled norvel, thats my plan at least.

I´m interested in the .049 version.

If you consider the short kit version (as ffkiwi) suggested, count me in.

I'm on the way to, and will be at SMALL this week and most of next. I did make a couple of International packages with the wing pieces cut in half to meet the PO's length req's.
Should not be a problem joining them as the centre sheeting spans 4 ribs and the long pieces can have a joiner glued underneath the joint ... OR ... Use your longer stock.
