Well I say we go hard line on this and clamp it off like a Guillotine at 0.05...... That'll keep those pesky Norvelites from raising Dickeybird's blood pressure all the time. Dang, the poor man is on the verge of a nervous collapse at having to remember all these new fangled displacements!

Oh wait, he's got one now doesn't he..... Hmmmm, as you were....

I like the idea of the SMALL limits but I also agree that changing the name would confuse the situation. I think we could drop the 1/8A reference without problem though. Sort of clutters up the title line.

As a guy who hardly ever posts here, I feel like I don't have a lot of say in the matter, but.....

I sure would like to echo BMatthews on this matter. I have been fooling with engines and RC internet Forums for a while. I could have asked for help concerning a .10 Webra at any number of places and I don't think I'd got so much as a passing glance (other than perhaps from some of the posters common to this forum and any other engine forums).

I realized I was pushing the size limits and said so in the title, yet I had several people jump in and not only help, but a couple offered up parts and support as well.

Just a greater concentration of SMALL-minded people in this forum. I surely don't intend to abuse this forum with questions about larger engines, and frankly if this had been a question regarding an OS .10 I don't think I would have asked about it here. I feel that the OS, while similar size, is more of a "General RC" engine while the Webra is more of a "man, nobody will know what that thing is except the 1/A guys" question.

So thanks for suffering thru my posts here . I really do appreciate your help, and I don't think I would have gotten it anywhere else.

I just wonder about that Webra saying "Made in Germany." All I've seen have been Austrian. Did Webra move?

Danged if I know. I only have a few NIB Webras now. The .32's are in a green box, a little mimeograped instruction sheet in English, made in Austria.

The 1.8ccm Speedy has a full instruction booklet, in German. Black and yellow box, imported by Model Rectifier. Box in German. I know this engine came from NOS hobby shop stock that has been setting for at least 15 years. The box has Model 1008RC on it, which would indicate the box is for a carb equipped engine. Then the RC is whited out, and "Non-RC" written on the box with an ink pen. Either it was shipped as the wrong version, or it and an RC got swapped.

The Webra Bully is also in a black box, instruction booklet in German, box in German with English version below. I don't see where it was made, it's in German.

My only NIB Webra, which also happens to be the only Webra I have now, is also in a box marked "Austria," as is the engine itself. A Speed 40. This box also has the MRC sticker on it, model # is 1034 RC. It has the price marked on it; $133.95.

For that money I can buy two Magnum XLS 40 engines, and have change for a gallon of fuel.

I'd say leave it the way it is. THe SMALL guys know what's going on, despite the title. Besides, the is the best/coolest forum on RCU, why change that?

This came up a while back and I guess my vote now is the same as it was then: Since the SMALLNet site has gone bye-bye, let's allow engine sizes that are under the "S.M.A.L.L." umbrella and make this the "official" S.M.A.L.L. site. Should pick up some traffic if the word gets out to the faithful. Maybe "1/2A and S.M.A.L.L." as the title?

I have no problems as to how this thread is now- I think the title "1/2A&1/8A Planes and Aircraft" (is that carpentry planes and..?) pretty-well keeps it self regulating.
Interesting as to what most people think th ebiggest engine should be though.. I have always thought of a .10 or less as being "small"
