Need Old Ace RC Catalog
Hey Y'all! In my recent fit of re-born rudder only RC interest, I found myself wishing I still had an old Ace RC catalog. Anyone out there got a 1971 to 1974 vintage Ace RC Catalog they'd be willing to part with?

RE: Need Old Ace RC Catalog
AJC,
If it has a section near the front of the catalog that is a page or two on flying rudder only, that would be good. I can't remember when they stopped putting that stuff into their catalogs, it might have been late 70's. Thanks!
P.S. Still would like an earlier one also because there were some old galloping ghost radios in those catalogs that I wanted to look at.

Al,
It has a few pages on the Pulse Commander and accessories, actuators, etc. Is that what youre after?
The catalogue is #30, which to the best of my knowledge around 1983.
If you want it, email me your mailing address and it yours....

AJC,
What I'm looking for is one of the catalogs that has one or maybe two or three pages towards the front that were a narrative on rudder only flying techniques. Ace put that into their catalogues for a number of years, but then it disappeared. Best I recall it was around 1975 or 1976 that they stopped including that narrative section in their catalogs, because by that time not too many people were buying rudder only gear.

I don't have any of the Ace catalogs, but do have quite a few of their Grid Leaks publications from that era. At that time Grid Leaks was THE source for us pulse do-it-yourselfers. I would guess most of the info in their catalog was taken from various Grid Leaks articles. I also have an Ace publication 'Proportional Control for Rudder Only' dated 1962 which is pretty much devoted to G-G and Simpl-Simul. Let me know your area of interest and I will see what I have.
Al Lenz
P.S. FWIW one of the last issues of Grid Leaks (May-June 1966) has Phil Kraft's original construction article of the 'Das Ugly Stik'. I still use it as the baseline for 'REAL' ugly sticks ;-). The Jensen kit is (was) reasonably faithful to the construction article. This was long before the Middle Stick, Little Stick, etc all came about.

THis must be the week for eBay. There are TWO 1971 Ace R/C Catalog-Manuals up for auction. Both are currently at 4.99 only 1 day+ left so better get your bid in quick. THis is NOT MY AUCTION and I have no connection at all with the person that is selling them. Just go there and search on ace r/c and you should find them.

I'm pretty sure that was an RC Modeler construction article by D. B. Matthews. If you go to the RCM web site they have all their plans accessible on the site.
