Default Ace Simple P-51

I have noticed that the Simple P-51 is back on the Quantum Models website. It had been removed for a while and I thought it was discontinued. Anyway, I'm going to try another simple series and hope to have a better flying plane this time out. I have seen a thread on the Me-109
and thought about building one of those, but while they still have the P-51, I feel I should build the Mustang first.
Anyone have the P-51 or the Me-109??

Hey,I have the ME-109 with a norvel .074.It flys great.
It drops the left wing when slowed down to much.I know the hard way .
I have been hard on it, but still flying.
I have only been flying for two years.
This was my first build.
I really like the 1/2 a stuff.

Hey Lynn, didnt you have the extra 230?, I have one but never finished building it, cause I really dont have the flying skills yet to fly it..waiting on a little bit nicer weather and gonna start in the major training with my t-52 trainer (jkaerotech) .. also have the HOB mustang I never finished from 10 years ago..I like the jkaerotech pocket rocket mustang for the $$ and the durablility, almost spadlike, I may get one of those soon too, only because I think the trainer is gonna get boring, real quick...Rog

Alessandro 78 and dioncuda, glad to hear you are having good luck with your planes. I ordered an AP .061 for the P-51.

Rog,
Yes, the Simple Extra now lives with the low wing of the Wattage Giles. The Extra had a hard life at first due to me having the wing on upsidedown. By the time I figured that out and that the Black Widow was too weak, it got pretty bashed up and gained a lot of weight due to repairs. Rather than build another one, I'll just try a P51 this time.

Edit: I just got the P-51 and Wasp engine in today! I hope to have some pictures to post in a week or so. One thing I like about the Simple kits is there are very few parts to put together. That is one of the trademarks of a Fred Reese design. The profile on the plans sure looks nice. It should be a nice looking plane.I think I can take what I have learned from building the first kit and make this one a lot more successful.
