Default New Brodak .049!

Well I don't know anymore than it runs on 10% nitro. The Brodak website doesn't even show anything on it yet!!

Later,
Tim

HI TIM! It will be interesting to see what it can do. Brodak tends to have high prices on their stuff, they cater to the CL guy who wants good stuff that can all be found in one place.

I'm sure it's made by the same people that are making their new .40 for them.

I'll bet it is VA-ish, but they will probably have it set up for the most power it can make with an APC 6-2.

Gotta have one.....[X(]

I have been wanting to do another nice CL plane for .049.

I emailed Brodak to ask about it. Have not yet gotten a response, but I am sure I will sometime soon.....

Tim, your probably right , it is most likely made by the same company that makes the Double Star40.50/61's and brodaks 40. The company Is located in Moldavia a former Russian state.
Oh and someone posted that it will probably need an APC6/2, well the origional C*x es were all made to run on the 6-3 including the C*xTD 049/051. That was the standard prop for almost every 1/2A in the 50's and 60's excluding Wen Mac which used a 5 incher ,their design, and real soft flexible plastic so the motor screamed but went nowhere. For what it's worth the standard prop for Cox TD 049's when I was flying 1/2Aspeed was the 4.5/7 thats right 7 inch pitch. Today you hardly ever see a 4 inch

Just got an email back from John Brodak confirming that his .049 should be out within 60-90 days. He stated that it was designed for his .049 sport planes. He also mentioned that it was designed from the outset to be run on 10% nitro fuel and with a standard glow plug.

I know I will be looking forward to getting my hands on one : )
