Where can I get Cox reeds? Is there any simple way they can be cut or punched from an easily available material?

I've wondered this myself -- particularly for the plastic (mylar?) reeds. Perhaps Tim, DB or AJC could tell us.

Mylar is the go.
I use 100micron- go lighter for more power!
You may be able to get it in graphic design/ art supply shops

I use the disk part of a floppy disk. I cut it with nail clippers to get the curve on each end. It does'nt need to be in a + shape. This shape () like an oval, works fine for me in my Cox .049 and .020's.
Hope this helps

I have allways had enough spares to not have to make any. But I think the same thickness of mylar that is in the Cox engines shouldnt be hard to find. I have drafting mylar that seems lirk it would work fine, but I haven tried yet..

Very interesting -- I never considered the using the mylar -- I shall give it a try.

I have used the dust shutters as a source of thin metal sheet -- to protect the wing TE from being crushed by rubber bands for example -- it's a little stiffer than beer can aluminum, but not as much to fun to collect. [8D]

Thanks for the tip.
