RE: More Lil' Roughneck Pix
Thanks for the compliments guys! It was a fun project.
Dave, I couldn't resist regarding the instrument panel, figured it just wouldn't look right otherwise. I was initially thinking of a pilot too, but didn't want to add any more weight. Retracts would be real cool! You know, if I lightened the structure and built it as an electric with the GWS EDP-50 motor and the GWS retracts, it would only weigh about 5 ozs. with rudder and elevator! Might be a good future project.

Bee-yu-tee-ful Al! You need to bring that one over to Little Rock.
Man, a feller has to have confidence to launch something that purty with rudder-only control! [X(]
Looking at picture #2, the tail moment and h/stab area look VERY generous. Just curious, where does the plan show the CG?
I wish I could be there to watch the 1st flight!

DB an Jeremy,
Thanks! Looking foward to flying it (or at least I think I am, ha!). Balance point on the plans is at about 36%. This plane is typical of the older R/O designs - large horizontal tail volume and a rather small vertical tail volume. Pretty much influenced by free flight design, which I guess is what worked out the best for escapments. I'll let everyone konw how the test flight goes.
