Default Which trainer?

Hi Guys,

I discovered this site about 2 weeks ago and I still can't believe all the knowlege out there (or in here). Not to mention the links to plane manufacturers, comparisons, etc. WOW!!

Here's my question---I have flown many times over the years, but at best I'm a beginner who can keep a plane up in the air, usually. I love to build, that probabaly has kept me in the hobby more than anything else. My "dream" is to be able to fly often and improve. Recently retired, (that's the big step), now I have the time.

I have a couple completed trainers from the past. One is an Ace Grasshopper, the other is an
Indicator I built from RCM plans (with the foam wing you could order from Sig).

Which is the best for me to use? I have several Cox .049s and a Norvel .049 r/c for power.
Any ideas?

BTW, I found a posting about guys first planes today. I laughed til I cried! Someone ought to start that up again; I'm sure there are new guys here since it ran.

Beesa:

Not familiar with your "Indicator," but the Grasshopper is a nice little plane, larger than most 1/2A planes and almost damage proof with everything attached with rubber bands, including the engine.

But.

It's designed as a two channel plane, no throttle and no ailerons. Personal feeling is a full house plane (R/E/A/T) is a better trainer.

Bill.

The Indicator is the same as the one kitted as the Lanier Indicator and is currently connected with a 3rd throttle channel.
