Default Need .049 throttle sleeve drawing

I need your help, I want to ask to somebody( a neighbor who owns and operate a lathe) to make a throttle sleeve for my TD and I explained to him what I want but I don´t know how thick must be the wall of the pipe, the light between the OD of the cylinder and the ID of the sleeve. Is it possible that any of you have a drawing with this information? Thanks in advance Regards.

If no one has a drawing one of us can measure and produce one quick enough. Might just take a few days.

Here ya go!

The sleeve O.D. is .675". The I.D. is sized to fit your cylinder as tightly as possible but will still allow it to rotate. It is made from "Ledloy" steel; the same as the cylinder. The slots on the example shown (Ace brand) are .090" tall and the opening is .228" wide at the inner surface. The snap-ring I.D. is .635" and is .036" thick. I have a drawing somewhere but can't find it now.

Thanks for the information, with the picture and the measures I can make a drawing now. About the sleeve ID, Is it better if I measure it when the cylinder is hot?. Because I think that if I make the sleeve ID to fit the cold cylinder OD, it can expand and damage. Am I right or wrong ?. Thanks once again. Regards.

Cortaceped

If you make the sleeve out of the same material as the cylinder they will both have the same expansion rate, and that wouild mean that the fit shouldn't change. Right?

....and the cox cylinder don't do a lot of expanding. make it a very close fit with a good seal if you want it to work right.

Dave & Bill both have it right, the slowest idling Tee Dees I have now had a TIGHT fitting sleeve. I lapped them to the final fit with Simichrome polishing compound and they will rotate smoothly at all temps but will shut the engines off on demand.

OK, I understand now, how tight must be the fit. Today after work I´ll take the measures. Thanks. Regards.
