Default Marvelous old designs! Perfect for micro RC

A recommendation and a request.

Take a look at Paul Bradley's site parmodels.com . He has posted downloadable plans for most of the old Top Flite Jigtime rubber models. They are really cute all-sheet planes that can be easily converted to RC nowadays.

However, now the request. Paul is still looking for a couple of the old kits. I loaned him my "Jigtime Jets" and three of the four Midwest models. He returned them in perfect condition after scanning the parts into his computer. Now, he needs the Me-109 and Zero from Top Flite, and the Cardinal from Midwest to make a clean sweep.

Thanks!

I just printed out the No Cal P-51.
Nice plans! I'm sure it can be enlarged for a profile r/c.

Sorta off topic, but not by much. In the 60's I built two TopFlite models, the RC2 Rascal and the RC 3 Schoolboy. I recently bought the kit plans and only need one thing to be on my way to building to fun .010 planes. The Rascal plan does not show the dimensions of the horizontal stab. Does anyone here have that information. I would really like to build these great little planes again. At 67 years of age I have very fond memories of these planes.

Thanks for any assistance,

I've got a Cardinal kit here.... But, it's an all-foam design from Midwest. Is this the one you mean?????

Nice kit, but not what we are talking about. The Cardinal that Paul needs is a small rubber-band powered sheet balsa model. It is one of a series of planes similar to the old Top Flite Jigtime models. Similar designs were also kitted by Cleveland (good) and Comet (awful!)

So far, Paul has all but 2 of the Jigtime, and all but 1 of the Midwest kits. Take a look at his website, its a fun trip down memory lane. parmodels.com

The Rascal stab is 8 3/4 x 3 (at the center). It is gently curved at the leading and trailing edges and the tips are elliptical.

I've never built a Rascal, but the Schoolboy was my first RC plane--single channel escapment and Cox Pee Wee 020.

I flew the Schoolboy with an Ace radio and an .010. Didn't get much easier than that!
