Pacer, 19 other new plans posted
Hey all,
I just posted the old AAM Pacer plans by Owen Kampen, with the article. Gene Rock re-did the plans so you don't need to find a set of wing cores, just build them up from balsa. Plans are tiled, or download 1 full size sheet. The other 19 plans are a hodge-podge of stuff, including a 1/2a hydroplane, free-flight gizmos from Roy Clough, C/L oddballs, etc. All are free for the taking!
Should appeal to the wacky tastes of the typical 1/2a flyer though, so Have Fun!

Ulmer,
Most start out life as scanned images, so I would have to run them through a
raster to vector converter (and all the cleanup involved) or hand digitze the
scan in CAD (as I did for the Littlest Stick plan). Either takes a lot of time.
Yes, some of Genes stuff is actually CAD (lke the Pacer), but the larger majority of internet
users can use pdf, and most are stymied by CAD formats, and most only have
easy access to a letter/legal size printer. Hence, the universal .PDF and tiles to
print on 8 1/2 x 11 sheets. I am shooting for the biggest possible audience
with my stuff, and the pdf/tiles seem to be the best solution so far.
I used to post full size .gif, .jpg. .tif .dwf, .dxf .dwg and I got ENDLESS e-mail on how to open
and print them. Not so many now! My site has been up for well over 4 years now.

Dave,
Thanks for the posting of all these plans! I really love the Sullivan Cobra. I had the plans a couple of years ago but lost them and could not rememeber where I had found them on the net. I am so glad that you now have them. I now want to modify it for RC!
Thanks alot,
Tim

Thanks for posting those plans. I like the Pacer, seems to be a little advanced for my skills. Is it possible that there was an Old Time Model called Pacer also ?. Regards.

Dave,
Any chance you could continue to post the plans for the twin lizzie? I just went looking for them and realized that they have dissappeared along with plans to the guided mite. Thanks, and if it isn't possible I understand. Still a great site!

Dave, I too was mystified to find that the ol' regulars had been let go. Wassup man? Those were classics! But I DID detect a certain move towards free flight oddities. Is the leopard changing it's spots? ....
Rag, I've got about 20 copies of the Lizzie plan in various hardrives and CD's. I'll send you a copy. PM me with your email addy.

Hi Dave,I've built a couple of planes from your plan site, both Ken Willard designs, and they flew well, right "out of the box".I think I'll do that control line gyro next.I haven't flown controline for quite a few years and I did build that gyro when I was a 14 year old in 1962.Built from Popular Mechanics {my dad used to buy it}.I never got it flying because I built the rotor head out of thin brass and it used to bend, letting the rotor hit the fuselage.I'll get it right this time.Keep that great site going. Thanks Dave.

Just trying to rotate in some "fresh blood" once in a while! Yeah, I have lots of little 1/2a R/C planes still
to re-introduce to the world. Gene had sent me all that stuff, and I figured it all deserved at least a moment
of exposure, even if the audience is limited for that kind of stuff. The Pacer and Nobler have been popular though!
And anyway, I figured you'all had saved them on your hard-drives by now! If something you want is not there
anymore, PM me and I'll e-mail it to you, which I already did for Ragwing (Thanks for posting the little PeeWeePal!)
I would like to post another Laumer plane, the G-Wing, which is a lovely design.

About 2/3's down the page is a .dxf of the pacer. Well. more than just a .dxf, there's also a pic and some info. The plans are very complete. Take a look at the SYKOSIS that's down from the pacer.
