Default Where To Find Old GWS Warbirds?

Hello,
I am thinking about doing a glow conversion of one of those nice GWS warbirds, or even an E-Starter. I have a BigMig .061 that would be perfect. Does anyone know where I can find one? I have posted on RCGROUPS, but haven't got many resposes. Thanx -patrick

Hello,
You can buy JUST the fuselage and the wings at Quantum? I would really like to get some that are already beaten up a little. Then I can glass it maybe. Thanx -Patrick

you can buy just parts at hobby horizon for the GWS planes yes just wing and tail set and just the fuse..too bad you didnt post last week I threw my e-starter out, it couldve been fixed I guess,,as I recall from the price of the parts you may as well get the whole kit and fly it like it comes first so you know where the cg is and how it handles,,check in the park flyer section, someone may have a casualty you can start with...Rog

ps from what Ive heard , I steer clear of the mustang and zero....

Ive heard of 'slope soarer' versions of some foamy kits available, i think from gws, that are un-painted empty shell versions of the arf planes.. Maybe someone in the electric forums knows more about those. I just looked at quantum models and they list some gws warbirds as 'unpainted' for around 50 dollars.. maybe that's them

I'm pretty sure most of the GWS warbirds come in Slope Glider versions. The main reason is that the E-guys will put their own power system on it, which is usually a brushless motor. They have no need for the puny, inefficient 300 motor that comes with it.

Most hobby shops don't carry the slope glider version of these planes. You usually have to order them from an online dealer like mentioned above.

Hello,
I am especially interested in those casualties. Something for real cheap that I can fix up. I will have to go to the Park Flyer forum and ask around. I hear a .061 on the nose of those warbirds is a PERFECT combo. Thanx -Patrick

I remember someone put an .061 on a Wattage crazy max and liked it alot...the unpainted GWS planes are the exact same kit except they are plain white ($10 less) so people can paint their own the way they want..theyre only like $45, or they were last time I bought one, Ive had 3 GWS and 2 Wattage planes,, I prefer the GWS line myself....Rog

I think you would have a blast with it after you glassed it and got it beefed up. That would be a nice setup!!! I have a GWS Me-109 in the garage (less the motor) that I need to get rid of or build. Brand new, just stole the motor for my Slow Stick.

PM me if you're interested in buying.

Sounds like you want one for free

It's around 30.00 dollars for a unpainted and no motor gws kit. Which is cheap.

I was thinking it would be easier to convert a non assmbled fuse then one that has been glued together. Case being you might want to install some lite-ply for a engine mount holder into the fuse. it would be easier to cut the fuse out while it is into half then rather then being whole and would look cleaner. Plus take in the 2oz gas tank you might want to install inside.
