Lynn, I did use the stock alerons. I thought about making them bigger to increase the wing area per your suggestion but didn't. We'll see how it flys. I can always cut them off and put larger ones on. It did come in a little heavy at almost 15 oz.

Darren, Maybe at 15 oz it won't be a problem getting it airborne, you will be able to tell on your first launch. Be sure to run like heck with it then give it a level throw. They need every mph you can give it.
I saw an electric powered 400 last year and the guy just tossed it and it fell like a brick. Not cool when you have 100 people looking on.

I think it'll be alright, I gave it a couple of test glides and it was fine. I don't think there will any problem under power. I'll let you know how it goes.

Well I just got back from the madien flight trip to the park and all went well. The plane flies great. A couple of trim passes and it was off to the races. The .061 has plenty of power for this plane even at 15oz. It would be even better if I could get the thing to run right. The carb needs some modification to seal some air leaks. One thing I would do differently on the build (especially if you don't have mixing capabilities on your radio) is build the wing with 0 dehidral. The plane experiences a large amount of roll coupling when rudder is used for knife edge flight.
