Right i bought this plane a while ago and promised to upload better pictures so here they are

Have flown it 4 times now and it flies great but i still dont know what it is ? any ideas ?

the other thing is when i crash it cos its a plastic fuselage it wont be easy to fix , ive been looking around and there dosent seem to be any new plastic fuselaged planes that are 3 channel there all 4 channel (ie ailerons)

Default RE: Plane ? But what is it ?

Hi,

I believe your plane was manufactured by an Italian kit company called Aviomodelli back in the 70's or 80's. There are not many manufacturers that use plastic as a fuselage but Aviomodelli still does and produces a couple of kits that look a lot like your present plane. If I were you, I'd enjoy the plane, don't worry about if/when it crashes, and get as much fun out of it as you can. I will go back in my "archieves" and see if I can't give your kit an actual name.

more later,

Dan

A Lanier "Transit" would be a similar plastic fuse/foam wing 3 ch plane, but uses a .40 or larger size engine. I flew one in 1968 and they are still sold by Lanier.

I ordered a Lanier "DART" last year which has a .61 engine. It is somewhat like a low wing Extra...Cap. I hope to get this plane together this summer and fly it. These old plastic planes are a bit heavy, but still amazing that they are still in production after 30 years or more!

If you buy some ABS plastic sheet you can repair it with a patch of plastic sheet and PVC pipe solvent glue.

I didn't know that about the PVC glue working with the plastic. That will help a lot. thanks
