For those too long screws
It seems the hobby shop never has short screws on hand. I bought some 4-40 screws for an engine mount, but didn't want them to stick through the blind nuts and cause problem with the fuel tank. They were too long, but the hobby shop owner said I could cut them off with a wire stripper, crimper tool. I had really never noticed what those holes were for near the pivot, but the small one is for a 4-40 screw. You just line up the holes and screw the screw in to the length you want and cut it off. The other sizes are larger, but at least it works with a 4-40. I guess small size screws can be cut too.
Anyway, just thought I would pass that along to others who didn't know they had a screw cutting tool in the toolbox.

RE: For those too long screws
Just be sure to run the screw in from the side with the threads. That way the burr on the end (after the cut) gets cleaned up as the screw is unscrewed from the crimper.
