Default Cox .09 Glow Plug

I picked up a glider with power pod, Cox .09 mounted. Engine like new.
Can't seem to locate glow pugs. Will the .049 plug ( head ) fit?
Sure hate to junk a new engine, if the glow plug goes.
Anyone make an adapter for standard plugs?

Thanks
LEM

I saw this thread and said "HAH!" I just knew tower would have it... after all, they have the engine! NOT TRUE! Tower has the engines, but no replacement glow head?! They do give a cox stock #2102. Weird, Huh?

There is one on E bay right now. item #5925378647

I think Mecoa produces a glowplug head adapter for the Cox 09.

Now I am confused!
Checked Mecoa, and found the glow plug adapers. Found one for the .049 and one for the "Tee Dee and .15"
Another check and I find that Cox made a Tee Dee .049, Tee Dee .010
Checked the Glow Plugs recomended - different stock number ( Tower HObbies ) and found they are for the Tee Dee .049 and .051

Will call Mecoa. if it doesn't fit, will just get one of their diesel heads and change fuel.
Got a couple gallons that need to be used up -

Did you buy one for the .09 and did it fit?

Thanks for the replies

Cox may have them- 1800-451-0339

I was ordering some head shims from them and I whined about them not making throttled engines any more, or even throttle rings-
The parts lady mentioned some guy or business that had many older cox parts, but I didn't write the name down (like a fool).

Maybe if cox does not have them, that guy/store she mentioned would, or coxmania on e bay may as well.

One of the cox parts bags I got had 1994 as the date on it.

If you do call cox, please also suggest they make a throttled engine again. The parts lady said they had a suggestion box and it really did get looked at ..... (probably by the housekeeping service as they put the contents into the incenerator!)

LEM,

I will be going to my LHS hopefully this week and they have some new old stock .09 glow plugs. The owner will let them go cheap ( he hates Cox )- so if you want a couple let me know. I owe someone who PM'd me a couple also, and plan to get his at the same time. Let me know, Dale

Does anyone make a Nelson plug adapter for the .09? It would be nice to have a replaceble plug that adds RPM.

Don't throw your old Cox 09 glow head away. Perhaps someone can
convert it for normal glow plug use (drill & tap). You may lose a little power but solve the problem.

Many thanks for the replies! Looks like there are a few out there.
Thinking back - I don't recall ever re-placing a Cox Glow Head, unless some one hooked a 6 volt battery to one.
Guess I'm nervous, because they aren't growing on trees.

Drilling and tapping a burnt out one, had crossed my mind as a last resort. Just might work -

Found the Glow Heads on the Virgina Sports ( previous post )
I can go either way, if you don't mind the bother -
Be easier for you, if I order direct -

I really got lucky awhile ago. I bought 16 of them for $4.75 each at my LHS plus a bunch of other stuff. Cox didn't sell too well here but as I've used Cox stuff for 50 years I'd like to keep a few of them going for a few more years.
