Default advice on 049

Got a question about 1/2a planes
I fly all sizes of RC planes, and have gotten the earge to build a ace mach none again like I did 20 years ago(lotsa fun to fly)
back then I used a TD 049.
Is that the engine to use today?is there any small engines like the TD weight wise that would preform better??
allready found a kit,and fixing to build it
Thanks for any info or opinions

Well if you still have the Tee Dee, with all the new micro equipment now it should fly even better, other wise you could go norvel or AP. All about he same price but norvels and AP surpasses the cox motors, and they are throttled.

I dont have the Tee Dee anymore, and yes I have plans of using small servos and battery pack.
I havent been around 1/2 A engines in years, and havent even seen any of the newer motors built today in any brand. I will look into the norvels and AP For sure
