Default 1/2A pylon racing

Greetings,
A few years ago, maybe 8-9 yrs. our club had 1/2A pylon races, we used the Ace GLH. At our last meeting there was talk of starting it back up.
The problem is I cannot seem to find any info on the GLH, are they still in production? are there any plans out there? If anyone can help out with these answers it would be greatly appreciated !!

TIA

Greg

Try either RCM or MAN plans service. The GLH was a fantastic plane, but to get one to come up to legal weight for AMA pylon, you have to continously dunk it in a vat of epoxy resin till it reaches the 20 oz minimum, and let it drip dry..

The GLH is gone, We're racing 1/2 here and the only rules we have are 200 Sq. In. wing area engines .051 or smaller - no ball bearings - no tuned pipes or mufflers - and 13 OZ minimun weight. With todays equiptment most of us have to add weight to get to 13 OZ. We are mosly flying our own designs with a smattering of modified Dominators. Power is by Norvel or VA Mark II engines with a couple of die hard Cox fans. We're running on an AMA sized field and 10 lap heat races take about 1.5 minutes. We do a fifty lapper once a year with a manditory re-fueling landing. The winner was right around 12 minutes.

We raced the Ace Simple Series warbirds with the Norvel .061 engines (no throttle) last year and it was a blast. We will be racing them again this year. Great flying planes, fast, smooth and cheap. The LHS was selling plane and engine for $65.00.

Check out the Tyler Modelers Club in Tyler Texas.
