Well, I finally got the scratch built Whizard done. I balanced it out tonite and weather permitting, will go for it's maiden flight tommorow (I'll be sure to take a couple of pics before) I just now realized I haven't set the control throws for the rudder and elevator! Any suggestions as what to set them at? The plans don't specify any. I was thinking maybe 1/2" or 3/8" to start out? Thanks, Prop

1/2" No way! Try 1/8 to 3/16 either way to start on the elevator and maybe 1/4" on the rudder. The controls are pretty sensitive and its best if you dial in the dual rates and start off low.

The rudder in particular can start you dutch rolling and PIO if you start overcontrolling...

Thanks AJ! I'll start out with 1/8" on the elevator and 1/4" on the rudder. I don't have dual rates on my JR XF421ex radio but being a computer setup, I can always increase the throws easily if I get a little bolder!
