The difference between a COX and a NORVEL? About six THOUSAND rpm! Norvel bigmig .061 with 5x3 prop should get you about 22-23k static. Blackwidow with the same prop is about 16-17k

the difference in cox and norvel engines too.
If you are talking a stock Cox Black Widow, then about 5,000rpm.

I didn't have a clue there was such a big difference! I'm pretty sure i'm going to be like william and have both types later on. I wanted to fly so bad today, but it is to windy and i don't want to risk my plane. It has been about 8- 15 mph winds all day, must be a storm coming in(hope not). Can some of you guys post some pics of your planes, so i can see them! Thanks SpeedSport

Jason:

Here are two.

First is 100 mph with a Space Hopper 0.049, second is 10 mph with an 0.020 reedie.

Jason:

It's their flying speed.

The one on the take-off dolly is control line speed, fastest was 102+ mph at the Dallas (Grand Prarie Texas) Nats in 1960. It was designed by Bryant A. Thompson. I got the rough cast pan and the fiberglass top from him, I supplied everything else and built the plane.

The high winged plane is called the "Littlest Stick," it was kitted by Ace R/C. The plan is still available. And ten mph is a guess, it handles wind a lot better than many larger planes.

Bill.
