Wattage Mirage 2000
I just picked up a mirage from a friend. I would like to convert it to a norvel .061 pusher? Anybody tried this before? Any suggestions? If anything, it will make a cool speed 400 plane.

Beenie I Didn't try the Mirage but did convert the F-22- same company and it worked well except for the fact that I placed the tank to far away, and ended up having to use a oneway valve to keep the pressure to the .061
Sold it this last weekend but enjoyed it while I had it

I saw a pic in a UK mag with a tanked cox engine srewed right on the back of the spd 400 ply. It's easy to convert these, the teedee and norvel engine mounts are the same diameter as the spd 400 motor so it fits in snuggly. You just need to make a suitable ply fire wall and coat any areas that may be exposed to fuel or exhaust with spray pactra formula U for foam or alcohol thinned 20 min epoxy. Should come out lighter and faster than the spd 400 version if you take advantage of the electronics to help get the CG correct, before you start adding lead.
