Here are a few pics of my 1/2A MIs Bikini. The plans where hand drawn and scaled from the original article plans, but were damaged win I had a little mishap with some acetone on another project....

Thanks guys. I plan on building two of these. The first will use the original color scheme and the second I will change the red to light blue. I may use red & white checks with red pin stripe rather than the original black and white on the second. But at the moment I'm building a bashed 6ch Eagle (added flaps, cargo drop, taildragger), a Herr Engineering 1/2A Sea plane, the Mis String Bikini, a Peice-O-Cake, a built-up Ranger 42, and my long term project is a B36 with span of over 10' for 6-0.15s. When I get time off I can spend a whole day going from one project to the next. Most are near completion and all will be ready by spring. I am also looking to built a A7 prop driven 1/2A, a Real Thing, an A26K 1/2A or 15s. a A26 for 25-40 (Wing Mfg plans) and we'll see what else I can fit in before spring... Need lots of balsa in the air for summer. And, somewhere in there I need to built a utility trailer to carry them all ;-) ....
The Miss Bikini has alway been one of my favorite planes. I even built a rubber powered verion of the plane years ago. I love it's clean lines and sweet looks. Another planeI loved but can't find plans to is the Scat Cat a 15 - 19 size plane that was published in American Modler I think. All my old mags are gone now so I have to scroung around and big up what I can. I have visited all the plan sites list here and many more to locate plans for these and other planes. But some seem to be lost for ever.....

Hey, i am really interested in the plane. I don't have the experience to fly it now, but I would like to build it. The plans that you drew, you said they were lsightly damaged. Is there anyway i could possibly get a copy of those? the originals would be good, if i could by them somewhere, but i would rather it be a small plane and i have no exp. on scaling down plans.

Hi Sneasle,
I'll be traveling to CA the end of this week. While there I'll be visting my brother (He builds full scale), and I hope to have a chance to use his drafting table to redraw the plans and have them scanned at Kinkos. Most Kinkos in So. Cal are capable of handling drawing much larger than this one. Here in Nebraska if it can't be used to make steak, we aint got it! So with luck I'll be able to send you a scan of the plans. I'm still looking for someone to CAD the plans for me. Also, the planes show a built up wing on the top, and a foam wing on the side view. I used foam. The wings I cut used the airfoil from the ACE constant cord wing set. Follow the instructions that come with the foam wings to add a trailing edge. Only, use a piece of 3/16" x 1/8" balsa as a trailing edge cap. Then use the 3/16" x 3/4" Aileron stock. To go full house (4 channel) you'll need use micro or sub-mirco servos. So, if you want to start buildig order a set of ACE constant cord foam wings and the balsa T.E. cap and aileron stock.
If I can't get the plans scanned while I'm in CA, I'll redraw them and send you the original. If you look you'll see that the ink has ran on one of the bulkhead. This was due to me dripping acetone on the plans while working on another project. The plans were on the bench and covered with sheet plastic and news print. But the acetone weeped through pin holes in the plastic and then the plastic acted like a giant sqeegie and run the acetone over a small area. You can still see the dined lines of the bulkhead. So the plans are not wasted. Just not a pretty as they should be.
I'm happy that someone has shown interest in this little cuttie :-)

Cowboy,
I am sorry but I don't have the color drawings. Mine are from an RCM illustrated catalogue. So actually the plans you have are probably better.

Hi,
For anyone interested. I now have a tif file of the hand drawn plans, and a fellow flyer has offered to re-draw the plans in CAD format for me. If you would like a d/l link to the Mis Bikini hand drawn plans drop me a line and I'll send you a link.
