RE: A TRIBUTE TO MY SON, CHARLES IV
Holy Cow... theres six pages here...
Combatpigg,
You havent seen much of me, but I have enjoyed your many posts....and grieve at the thought of what a trajedy this is. I did not know your son, but he was serving his country I am sure when he fell. I just wish this warring planet would get its head on right an all this maddness end. Maybe this can happen in our future.
May you have peace within..

RE: A TRIBUTE TO MY SON, CHARLES IV
Sorry to read this CP.
I didn’t new before I read the topic this evening. It haven’t been on top for the time I been surfing the 1/2A forum. I think I can’t imagine how it would be to loose one of my kids. I don’t know you besides the writing you have done here, but I’m truly sorry and with great compassion for you.

Chuck,
Sorry to here this. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. Time will help...some. Nothing worse than loosing family. But you have the RCU family and we have your back. Let us know if we can do ANYTHING.

RE: A TRIBUTE TO MY SON, CHARLES IV
CP, This morning was the first time that I had seen this thread. First let me say that while time may change things, I know that you will always miss your son and feel your loss. The support contained in this thread has been a reminder that airplanes are not the only thing that we have in common here. We are all grateful for the sacrifice of your son and your family, and wish deeply that it had never been necessary. I hope that this thread stays up where everyone can read it. As a reminder that nothing we have in this country comes free.
God bless you and your family.

CP- You and you family are in our prayers forever. I called the wife down to read this and she read all 6 pages while we both wept. My brother almost had the same fate when the war first started. He was driving a hemmit with 20,000lbs of C4 and 10 rockets for the mine clearing equipment on the 2nd day of the invasion of Iraq when he noticed a man stand up in the field to his right and launched a RPG at his vehicle. He had just enough time to yell to his partner in the passenger seat and open the door. The vehicle was destroyed as well as his pal in the seat next to him. Bradley suffered many injuries but escaped with his life...for that I am thankful but still saddened. I wish there was words to described how I feel for your loss. May God guide you through the rest of time til you's meet again. Still weeping,
Kevin

CP,
I remember reading the first post and wanting to post something. I am ashamed that I did not. However; then, as now, words fail to convey the feeling. I have many friends and co-workers who are either over there now or have been and you are the first that I know who has lost somebody. I can not imagine the feeling. Our thoughts are with you and your family.

CP, I must take my stand as well. I have read this thread several times myself and wanted to post my feelings but have been unable to. Losing a loved one is always difficult and to lose a son like yours is even more so.
My heartfelt thanks for your son and others that have stood to protect us all for our freedom and to preserve our way of living.
I am truly sorry I waited till now to say anything at all but times like these are hard for me to put into words that tell how I really feel. Even now i have come short and lacking...

Chuck,it has been a while since I have posted on these pages and your post about your son was the one that touched me the most and the one from my time in this group that I will never forget. I am out of flying now as my stuff was all stolen and in this economic climate I will probally never come back. In fact, it hurt to just come here for this post as I used to spend hours here just reading the posts and sometimes getting in myself talking the things that i truely loved to spend time doing.Brothers.I did not say at the time anything concerning your lose, not that it was something i felt that I should not do but that no matter what I could have said would have only come out as hollow. Please forgive me for that as it bothered me a lot and to this day I have never forgot your posts about your son and you spending time together flying before he deployed. My son is over there now with the Marine Corps. I just want to say that in the deepest parts of my heart, I am sorry for your loss. God bless you Chuck, you and yours, and long may you run.

He just had to go out and push himself. He dropped out of college to go do it and left one more fine little girlfriend that is going to amount to something behind to enlist. We, the family, have been made a mighty proud bunch by that 19 yr olds action. If I thought a 2x4 would have worked, I am a carpenter and have a few laying around
