Hey, does this count as 1/2A? This is a Global Wattage Super Impress (obsolete) that was meant for a speed 400. I flew it that way, but was bored so I equipped it with an OS .25 FP and she screamed across the skies, untill she screamed her last and was reduced to little pieces. Well, I just rebuilt her and installed a .15 TT, and now I think I'm hooked. She's the smallest bird in my hanger, but not for long!

I respect your right to call it 1/2A if you want to call it that. That plane would probably make a mean little twin with a pair of .061s. The TT .15 is a pretty good value, nice to have around. I have never been happy with anything .25 powered, either too much or not enough for whatever I tried to use one for.

Technically 1/2A is .049 and under, but nobody around here is going to complain about you telling us about your .15 or .25 size models.
Personally, I have really liked .25 size engines.. A .25 can fly a 3lb plane with lots of authority.

.25? Wow, I'm guess it was wayyyyy overpowered?
The closest match to a speed 400 is a .049, with the .061 having wayyy more power (vs direct drive 400). .25, I just can't imagine flying that! That's like 4 times the engine you'd need for overpowered flight!

Yup.
Around here, we are a lot more open to folks that some of them specialty threads.
Downtrodden- Where's the pics man! We are even more open minded to folks with pretty pics
Finished, skeleton, even just a set of ribs on the table. I cant speak for everyone (ok, I barely speak for anyone) but most here are builders, so if you have any shots of it going together would be great.

Here's the pics. When there was a .25 in it, it could really tear up the sky! (Zero flutter I might add) If you want to talk over-powered, then how about a U Can Do 60 equipped with a 3.7hp Super Tigre turning a 17x4 APC......I can throw that big bird around like I can my Twist. (TME smoke system as well, the thing weighs a ton!) I am however realizing that I"m just using way too much fuel for the flying I'm getting in and I want these 16 gallons I just received to last more than a month. I've really been enjoying flying the Impress, though........The big stuff just takes up room in my van. I just picked up a mislabled kit in Duluth that I thought was a Slow Poke (at least the box had a typed label indicating as much) which upon arriving home 250 miles away........turned out to be a Clancy Speedy Bee! A little too big for a .15 I've got hanging around. But I do have a Norvel .049 RC that's waiting for a plane, any suggestions? Thanks.

That Super Impress with a .25 probably flew something like my Kadet LT-25 with a Fox .40BB on the nose - 5' takeoff roll into a 60° climbout
- it could maintain altitude at 2 clicks up from idle and I didn't dare use full throttle unless the nose was pointed WAY up. Finally I came to my senses and swapped to an OS .40LA, which is still plenty of power. The Impress airframe looks like it could carry a good payload--perhaps you should dabble in aerial photography with it, or build a box to drop parachute guys from

I don't know about overpowered, with a couple streamers on my wing that Norvel 25 is JEEEEEST RIGHT

But it is a half A forum, I just thought I'd sneak a pretty picture in.

Buzz, I have aerial video equipment that I put on various planes, but I wouldn't want to destroy the less than the pound and half she weighs. I have a Hanger 9 Corsair that I'm building that'll have two bombs under the fuse that I can drop....filled with talc (or other stuff...mwahahahaa).
